Re: Debate: Will no jump-shots really stop Bunnyhopping?

Incedently, if bunny hopping was as useless a tactic as some folks like to suggest, then people wouldn't be doing it would they? I saw some serious hoppers last night and yes, they were hard as hell to hit.
Fortunatly, we were playing as a good tight squad and 4 guns take 'em down nice 'n quick.
There you go. You are an advanced player you can even take out bunnyhoppers. Some people will just turn around prone and shoot and at that they're good as hell. If you're in a squad you will take them out but they will have killed at least one. I find these players far more challeging

I don't like people that shoot while bunny hopping/Dolphin Dive but they are tactics in the game that you need to learn to defend against. I very tired of hearing the argument that this would never happen in real life. If someone was shooting at me in real-life I would do almost anything to avoid getting hit. If that included running around and hopping like a jacka** I don't think I would care how I looked at the time as long as I survived. There is a lot more than this to complaint about if your going for realism. Like re-spawning when you die or spawning on a squad leader across the map to take a spawn point. Not dying when shot square in the chest with a rife. Reviving a dead solider back to full health/effectiveness after he was shot by a missile/Nade Launcher. If you want realism join the military, better graphics, less lag and NO TKing for vehicles.:)

Ive had a prone jumper appear from round the corner and take me out. Yeah it Ped me a bit, but I had to respect the guy. I cant do it. - Its a skill. It might be classed as a cheap skill. But there ya go. I like to run, jump and then go prone over a wall - if only cos it looks cool. - dont take that away from me EA.

Bunny hoppers: - Also a pain in the ass but can be dealt with. The idea of me not jumping while shooting makes me wanna cry. I dont do it alot, but when I do, it usually saves my life.
I think of the times of Strike, ontop of the hill, a guy is alittle way up the hill. And the only way of taking him out is to jump, so you can get a clear shot on him and not shoot the dirt. . How Im I ganna do that after the new patch eh?. Gonna have to get ANOTHER patch out to stop that explot.
After 6 months. I DONT cry over the hoppers and divers. I just get on with the game. I dont bitch about the blackhawk. Cos every now and then I get to use it!

I really think this patch is gonna ruin this game.

Patch up the RED tag bug - Patch up the battlerecorder. forget the rest

....ok... AA missles..... yeah, thats a good thing

they need to take out the jump button, and substitute it with climb. you wouldnt need to jump anyways other than going over walls or boxes which technially means climbing it.

The only game that ever had it right was Rainbow Six-(and Swat 4 if I remember right)-no jumping at all. There was climbing but no jumping. Lockdown will be the same--No jumping, just climbing (on, over , up, down) when you are close to an object that allows it. So there was NEVER any bunny hopping. It's the only way to program these games. it's just plain laziness on the devs part not to code it this way as well as a bussiness decision on the DICE's/EA's part so that the kiddies and console players would buy the game--sales!!! Go to any forum on any war shooter and I bet most of the compliants are about the damn jumping. Tacticals against! Arcaders, console players, kiddies for!

My favorite way to cap/defend that flag, usually the guys are looking the other way when you jump across and look right, BLAM!.

Anyways..

He is wrong, but I think the jump button should only allow at most a 3 foot vertical. I think the jump button should be a dual purpose jump/climb button for getting onto/over taller objects. So if you are against a climbable object your character should climb and not jump.
