I agree with you 100% Wargimp. this is NOT the way to fix bunnyhopping. They need to tie jumping with stamina, and they need to code in transition times between jumping, proning and crouching (which it's possible they have done) as it relates to aim. leaping around like an idiot for 10 minutes, landing, proning, and instantly having perfect aim is not good for gameplay. IMO, DICE could learn a thing or two from a little game called "call of duty"

I know the jump height issue has been debated to death, but i still say they should bring it down to something at the very least beleivable.

Re: Debate: Will no jump-shots really stop Bunnyhopping?

The sole removal of the ability to shoot while jumping will NOT remove bunny hopping.

However, it is worth noting that a 'stamina exploit' was going to be fixed.

The only thing that I can think of as a 'stamina exploit' is the ability to jump with no stamina, even though the game is clearly coded so that you lose stamina when you jump.

If this 'stamina exploit' were fixed, that would stop bunny hopping contiously as we know it, because you would run out of stamina to jump in about 3 jumps.

i didnt read any post in this thread, including the first post, but since the topic title speaks for itself, i'd say no, it doesnt stop bunnyhopping, bhop is just continuous strafe jump. it has nothing to do with shooting.

Bunnys wont stop the hop.... they will just hop in another way...

Ive played VC for many years (since it came out = 3years)... ppl also complained about BH'ers here...

The developers came up with a patch.... 3 jumps and no more.... then you'd have to wait before you could jump again....

              Worked....

I see another idea from many ppl that would work... You can only jump when you got sprint in you... and jumping takes out sprint faster than sprinting does... Same result... a few jumps and done...

Re: Debate: Will no jump-shots really stop Bunnyhopping?

Seriously, my only complaint with bunny hoppers was that when they come around a corner they jump and then fire down, normally with the noob toob and not get hurt at all and kill me.

A bunny hopper, IMO, is quite easy to hit. They move slowly and predictably and if I bring up my ironsights to hit them, I have absolutely no problem hitting them. Personally, I have never noticed a hitbox problem with bunny hopers and think you put yourself at quite a disadvantage by hopping if you cannot fire. I would much rather be on the ground firing when I want then hopping and only firing for the brief period while you are on the ground.

Go ahead, noob toob and if you miss, start hopping rather than switching weapons. . . I'll take you down each time.

A big part of it is the height of the jump. I think this is a big reason why it was not such a big deal in 42 and BFV because you could not jump 8ft in the air.

Frankly, bossman, but you are kind of an idiot. I specifically said that if they don't switch weapons and jump around reloading, I will own them.

However, what you said is exactly what I do. I fire my grenade laucher and immediately change to my rifle (if they are anywhere near me) so I can finish them off if need be.

Second, you have no idea how good I am at the game or where I play and who I play against. . .so how do you know that I haven't played against good bunnyhoppers? For that matter, what makes one good at bunny hopping? How hard is it to hit jump over and over again? And, on top of that, the top players are ALWAYS hard to kill, regardless of the tactics they use. So a generalized statement about bunny hoppers applies to the average bunny hopper, not just the top 5 players.

Again, I really don't have a problem with bunny hoppers. The movement is completely predictable and once they start jumping, I will generally kill them before they land the second time. If they are jumping and not firing back at me, it will make it even easier because now I won't have to move and aim at the same time to make it harder for them to hit me.

I predict that this will, for the most part, detroy bunny hoppers. Sure, people will still try to use it defensively. . . however, now you don't have to worry about them firing back while they are jumping so you have more time to steady your fire.

Wargimp I'll have to agree with you. Day of Defeat doesn't let you shoot when you jump and I find it really annoying for the most part. I think they should adopt the counter strike solution. make it so that you move half speed when you land for about 1/2 a second, and that you jump half as high as you normally would if you tried to bunnyhop.

People would still hop, most people i see who hop do it because i surprise them, and sometimes between reloads.

Especially funny if you ever sniped a group of people from a well hidden position - and they all started jumping together, weeee (never wanted to snipe again after that though )

Is anyone else having issue with the timing of posts?

my last post says, right now, that it was posted 41 minutes ago. However, the post I reponded to, bossmans, says it was posted 37 minutes ago and is BELOW my last post. This makes no sense.

There is nothing like sniping a BH'er with your pistol as he reaches the top of his jump.. watching him spaz out and fall down like a sack of potatoes.

I wont be sad to see it go tho.
