Debate: Will no jump-shots really stop Bunnyhopping?

[Please, save your comments on whether or not you think hopping is a legit tactic or not and lets try to keep the flames to a simmer.]
    There are lots of threads going on about the proposed patch changes, but I really wanted to get some good discussion going on this single issue;

I feel strongly that not being able to shoot while jumping will NOT curb bunny hopping. It will, in fact, train people to become better bunny hoppers. Since they actually have to land before shooting, they will be working on their timing. Not being able to shoot in the air does nothing to curb using the tactic as a defensive manuver while closing range or reloading.

To me, it's painfully obvious that the true "fix" to bunny hopping is to make jumps take more stanima (I'm thiking about 1 3rd of your bar) and require you to actually have enough in order to jump. This is NOT a new idea. Many others have stated it as well. Other games have already implemented it with great success.

HOWEVER, I could be missing something.
Does anyone see how removing jump shooting is really is going to help matters?

I plan to spend the entire day of the patch doing the following to demostrate to everyone I come across that bunnyhopping isn't dead:

    1) Pick assault.
    2) Fire m203 at someone (preferably near a wall.)
    3) Jump like mad until I'm reloaded.
    4) Go to 2.

yeah people are still going to bunny hop for cover when they're getting shot by a sniper, I don't play sniper much but I feel sorry for anybody who tries to make long range shots cuz that's all faggots ever do is zig zag bunny hop when they're getting shot at, looks very retarded.

nope this will not help bunny hopping, this will just make it allmost impossible for engineers to kill prone ppl with a shotgun , oh well adaptation is the word innit? hehe

nah i dont believe it will.
People bunny hop to allow them to avoid being shot at. Its that simple. Besides, it appears that the new patch will not allow folks to fire while in flight. Thats good. Believe me. However, i use the nade launcher alot. And i can count on both hands how many times i've actually fired while in flight. Its not many. You fire, THEN jump around like an idiot. Then reload, stop jumping like an idiot, fire, then rinse repeat.
So, NO, this will not stop bunny hoppn' in the slightest.
Originaly DICE had said BUNNY HOPPIN' wouldn't be an issue because it was tied into STAMINIA. However as we all fully know, thats a bunch of crap.
Height, and how many times you can jump should have been tied into stanima. I mean be real. DICE said they made the height HIGH, so you could access certain things within a map. Ok...but you need to jump 10 times really fast, and in seccession? No. You dont.
I hate bunny hoppn'. But in the end, its a very effective way to avoid death, and to inflict it unto the enemy.
Dice dropped the ball on this one. Lame.

I don't mind hunting those rabbits. I just don't want them hunting me.
Jumping up and down while shooting is twice as bad as just plain bunny hopping.
IMO getting rid of one is better than ignoring both.
We all KNOW they aren't going to spend a lot of time on this one. Those expensive solutions will not likely come to pass. We should be realistic to that.

If you want to figure it out on your own..do it. Then release the work to them. I'm not trying to be flippant here either.

Yeah all that military boot camp training really paid off when I can jump about 3 times before I have to lay down and take a nap.

No, it won't stop purely defensive bunny hopping, which looks just as ridiculous and is just as hitbox-exploiting as offensive hopping.

Thats what alot of us have been hoping for. Stamina decrease is a good idea. Then I could just track the Hoppers, and waste them when they use up thier energy. Like hunting in real life.

HABO3, you sound like a real sweet and cuddly type.

even though u have no stamina, u can still bunny hop. they should make it where if u have no stamina u cant jump at all...and as long as DICE makes the jump function available, then yes its a valid tactic.

now if you cant shoot while jumping i would assume your weapon goes down and thus you cant reload? correct me if i am wrong but that is the way i have always seen it

You mean stamina increase right? As in increase the amount a jump uses, as we don't want to take away sprinting as it already takes long enough to run to some places.

I still don't really have a problem with people bunny hopping .. kill them before they know it, or kill them when they start hopping .. no big deal.

if that is in fact the sprint exploit we wouldn't need that jump and shoot thing, that stamina thing by itself would be more than enough to stop bunny hopping.

*edit: this is weird, the post i'm quoting ended up below me, is this normal?

Its not going to stop bunnyhopping, it is however going to stop those tards with their c4 macro, and those hopping toobers, its harder to hit someone close with the 203 while you are at ground level, at least without killing yourself.

Lets hope the sprint exploit refers to the fact you can still hop when the stamina is low.. but, th name doesnt make any sense. Maybe for the next patch :p
