I haven't played regular BF2 since installing SF... It's not perfect, but you can't please all the people all of the time. 8.5/10.

I'm finding myself to be quite a fan of Levithian (Note unattentiveness to spelling during map loading, normally too busy having a ciggarette). I haven't tried the other night maps since I bumped my res and settings up, all high except lighting and shadows which are on medium, 2xAA and 1280x1024 @ 85mhz. As for performance issues, I was experiencing some on the medium settings, but since bymping up the x800 pro has gone crazy giving me an average 60 - 70fps be it day or night.

New toys are great, tried to play bf2 Vanilla the other day, up a ladder i go, and then I realised I can't live without the zip line any more. Was quite distressing really, I had no where to go but back down, how boring.

Overall the only map I don't enjoy is Iron Gator, probably because I can't manage to pull a team to work together and do some devestating damage on public servers.

All in all, can only say, for the sake of $30 what the hell else are you gonna get?

I admit i kind of had higher hopes for SF sure they made some new army's but gave them all like the MEC guns and the night maps just arnt that cool as i thought they would be. But i have to love the tear gas :) nothing better then spaming that all over and just watching people run around is awesome...all in all if i had to put it into a 1-10 scale i would give it a high 6 low 7

Re: So how is Battlefield 2 Special Forces?

Special Forces is fabulous, if you look past the performance issues that some experience (I don't have them myself) and some of the issues with nightvision like sliding down a hill that you didn't even know was there and die. Unless theres some sort of building that you can see is below you.

Zip line and grappling hooks are fantastic additions giving alot more options for attack plans and defensive positioning, along with Tear Gas(How I love storming insurgent buildings as SAS all geared up to the nines whilst gassing them)

The new maps make for a more intense toe-to-toe infantry fight. Warlord is my personal favourite, christ its only £20 well worth it, all these people complaining and refusing to buy it due to principle are just boring, get a grip guys I don't like the way EA conducts its affairs but unfortunately unless you can convince the majority to stop buying their games all your going to do is wear down your keys. They can whine for as long as they want.

Then of course you get the advantage of SF unlocks some of those SF wepons are :censored: amazing, F2000 worth the £20 alone.

Sure it has its issues and rushed and badly coded. But I've come to expect no less from EA. So lets just get on with it and enjoy the game buy it or don't buy it, it's hardly worth crying over the forums about it.

(This wasn't directed at anyone in particular just there is alot of you whiners out there though)

Would have been just as happy w/o the new weapons and just getting the new maps.

Support for custom maps is so poor from EA that the SP's maps wold have been a great jesture as free dl's.

                    Great jesture...what am I thinking.

Getting the badges isnt a great problem... only half an hour to go as a SEAL to earn my first SF ribbon.
no one seems to be getting any SF ribbons

i just bought it today. I unlocked the medic gun and I've been getting enough kills to justify the $30

I got it the day it came out and I've only played a little SF but it's because most of my friends don't have it yet

the night maps suck because you have to keep switching from night vision to regular which is extremely frustrating

the best thing about getting SF is the new weapons you get in regular BF2 I love the G36E I got for the medic class it's just much better to use on the city maps which is what I play most of the time

i like it a lot, most of the new maps are fun. The new weapons arent that amazing, but its fun to have a few different ones to try out. Night level DONT SUCK, it add variety to the game. If you dont like night vision, or night maps dont play on them, but i find them unique and fun. Interiors in houses, and building add another dimension to the game. And for only $30 buck might as well get it.
