It's a good game but they have to put some more thing in it but there are awasome weapons but not very much but thats ok the new night vision is funny. But if you want to save you money i wont buy it i think

Not very 'SFish'. more like new maps and guns which is really good imo

I say buy it. I think Dice did a great job with it. I know some guys have performance issues, but I haven't had any problems at all.

I like the night maps and I like the fact that the battlefield is so much more dynamic. Because of all of the new toys, guys can come at you from any direction and be in places they never could get in BF2.

1st thing: dont let the trailer fool you. i bought SF expecting some almost MGS style stealth action on night maps and shiite. if anything its MORE frantic than original BF2!!! With the tight maps and large amount of players dont expect to die less than 20timis in a round lol. A plus INO

Plays much the same a BF2 with the grappling hook and zipline an effective squad can get into some truley devestanting attack angles and posistions!!

Night maps.......meh....... they're O.K i'm not the biggest fan of them purley because its too varied youve only got ur nightvisions on for about 2mins at a time then constantly switching whilst cappin flags looking for enemies.

I had a few problems installing the patch but once i got around them it runs nicely.. havent had to alter my setting betwwen this and the orig BF2.. seems like it picks its victims randomly. lol

Reviewers basically give it an 8.4

After some time with it, I think an 8.4 is about right.

I dont play SF anymore and have no desire to do so.

Its alright,a bit laggy even for high end systems. Its more infantry based combat.Worth the $30 if you enjoy BF2.Weapons are nice, the zip line, grappling hook, tear gas,and night vision is a niec touch too.

Re: So how is Battlefield 2 Special Forces?

Personally i'm still mixed on it. I dislike the night maps intensely. The night vision gets monotonous, and the gameplay on night maps is always the same, stumble around slipping down hills in devils perch or zoom back and forth between flags in night flight, its just irritating. And the remaining 5 maps range from good to ok but not spectacular. The new toys are are fun, but to make it a worthwhile exp pack they need to:

                a) sort out the dismal performance, fix bugs (sound bugs and crashing issues etc), and optimise heavily.
                b) add 2 more day maps
                c) fix the missing ribbons and medals, the current state of affairs indicates a lack of planning and thought.
                c) give the mec sf, insurgents, spetz and rebels some new primary weapons. Apart from the RPG for the insurgents and rebels, the weapons loadout for all 4 armies is the same as MEC in Regular BF2. Maybe a VSS Vintorez sniper rifle, AK103/AK105 or Groza, anything to give those armies something different to play with.

Dont get me wrong, I enjoy it, but it wont replace Regular BF2 for me. On a given day I'll play 70% Regular/30% SF, and considering SF is the new product, if it had been as good as it could have been, i would be playing it exclusively right now.

The new maps are fun, new weapons are cool, but when not playing on our clan server, I find myself in Kark or Sharqi.

Its darn good. I don't like or play the night missions.
I like the new weapons, grapple, and zip line, flash bangs and gas grenades. some of the best CQC maps. Warlord, Iron Gator, surge, ghost town. these are the only maps worth playing. worth $30? yes. some people complain about poor performance, I havn't had any problems. plays just as smooth as VBF2

i Would say that SF is better then the Regular BF2 because SF has more option, Like new weaponsm levels, Teams,ETC. I would definetly get BF if i were you.

Can't say I'm too jolly playing the night maps despite a 101 score on one of them, but overall quite ok for an expansion. Its cheap to buy anyway. Haven't experienced lag issues. Zip line is a laugh.
Getting the badges isnt a great problem... only half an hour to go as a SEAL to earn my first SF ribbon.

                              Hearsay: Over ruled!

I have no issues with it. Warlord and Mass Destruction and Ghost Town have totally the best CQB action. Love having interiors. Even Gator is good with a good squad.
