    Amen!..yes BEER for the reviewer.

I read the review (every word) and I think it is 100% accurate. I hope someone at EA or Dice.... (with brains NOT $$$$ signs) will read these things, and maybe make some positive changes for the future.

Fact is, this expansion is a liability to the Battlefield series.

BF2: Vanilla ? 9.5/10 (simply because I dun give perfect scores)
BF2: SF ? 5/10 (simply because I feel bad for DICE)

Now if only those dang servers would revert back to old Vanilla... I got some bombing to do.

      PS: Beer for the reviewer!
I agree with this view as well. I bought SF, but after a week or two I don't play it at all. BF2, I play 100% of the time, and just as much as ever. IMO, SF had potential, but Dice and EA failed to listen to the Battlefield fan, and dropped a dud on us. The $29 doesn't bother me in the slightest, its just the fact that it doesn't add anything to the game, and seems like they took two steps backwards.

As they say in USAF BMT.

BOOM! I blew up, Sir!

Yes you did, EA, you most certainly did.

yeah, I hate to admit that I haven't played Special Forces since the week I bought it either. I love some of the maps, especially Warlord, and I love the new teams, the new vehiciles and the grappling hook (the tear gas is just funny. I'm thinking of replacing the cough file), but hate dumbing down my specs. I'm going to try creating a second account/profile this weekend so I can run two spec ranges without having to reoptimize each time. I'm enjoying a variety of mods currently and some of them are in special forces.

Oh yeah, that reminds me. King Of The Hill 1 is a Special Forces map that works in single player (I guess because its the same navmesh as the original map) and runs near 80fps for me. That got me thinking... has anyone in the mod community thought of writing their own patch? I realize that the logistics of laying an EA patch over an unofficial patch would be hell, but I'm sure there are tons of us who'd be willing to uninstall it all and reinstall the EA patch if they get a decent one released. If people like the Merc Mod team can release a patch to fix 1.12 issues in regards to their mod, it must be possible to make an overall Special Forces patch that cleans up some of the coding issues, no?

But you got lucky. This game is broken. I've been building PC's for a long long time and I know what makes them tick. This game does not run well, and I would have rather waited until 06 to get the expansion than pay $30 for a buggy beta.
If the game was broken, it wouldn't work on more people than nots machines.

Over generalized assumption based on only aspect of the game itself. Please expand your arguement for credibility. Thank you, come again.

Re: Gamespy gives BF2 SF a...

Expansion - I am not trying to say if you can't get the game to run you are stupid, sorry if it came out that way.

The game had to be deleloped to a certain amount of standards, correct? Now, take gamers today, they use unsigned/tweaked drivers, have newer hardware, the ones I know, have Windows tweaks as well. Now, you add the thousands of different software developers, hardware makers, and all the different combinations of software/hardware people have and run on their systems and you are going to have conflicts. Now couple that with people that don't know how to set up their systems and run them effieciently, and you have a seemingly overwhelming number of problems. Most of which are fixed when given other experiances with similar equipment.

How many people complain that they can't connect to srvers, or lag real bad that have say a Bittorrent program downloading movies running in the background, or are trying to have music playing through WMP while playing, or get kicked because Automatic updates started downloading the newest hotfix, for their even buggier Windows operating system.

What I am saying is there are tons of things that can cause problems playing and installing certain games that have large system requirments such as BF2, but for most it's easier to blame the game, which I'll reiterate, works more often than not. Does the game have bugs? Sure, show me one that doesn't have any. Most of them it seems are server side or related to playing online more than the game itself. I have never seen the red name bug in singleplayer, have you?
