i like the flash bang becouse you can blind the guy you want to kill and dot have to worrie about him killing you becouse he can see you, but eith the normal frag you throw it and you either hit him or you miss and you shoot each other.

Its just a great tool to have when capping flags.

lob a couple in each direction and just wait. Job done!!

One more to make your exit and the enemy wont even have got a shot off.
      Sweet.

I think they defiantly need to tweak the flashbangs though. The effect they have seemed to be the same no matter if it is night time or if you’re on the deck of an aircraft carrier in the middle of the day with the sun shining bright. Very unrealistic.

          1. You get flashbangs and a Grenade Launcher attachment.

          2. You get more flashbangs than a smoke grenade.

          3. It's more effective than a smoke grenade.

          4. A lot more useful for capturing flags surrounded by enemies.

          5. The effect lasts for good portion of time.

only problem with flashbangs is the twats who tk for the planes throw the flashbangs, blind everyone then jump in the plane before anyone can see it...

kinda funny to do it to a group of people waiting by the air field and then legging it, i have no interest in planes or choppers, but i get ****ed when 1/2 your teams waiting at your main base

It usually takes two to three grenades to kill someone. If you lie prone in a corner, you won't die 9/10 times.

Soo glad i didnt buy SF... sounds like Flash bang grenades are 100x more effective than frag grenades... lol... a greande can kill you from 15 meters away irl...but only 1m in bf2...

does the flash bang disorient you if you arn't looking at it when it goes off?

If you arn't actually looking at the flash, you wouldn't be nearly as disoriented, just temporarily deaf.

After being flashed a few times in BF2 I find them not really that useful. Everytime I was flashed, granted I never looked directly at the grenade when it went off, I still was able to distinguish the people around me and have some clue as to my surroundings. I couldn't really return fire very well, which I guess is a good thing, but it didn't stop me from getting out of the area, or lose track of a person.

I use them more for escape than attack. They're perfect when your being ganned up on and know where you want to go because if you get flashed too you might have a couple seconds with the white screen. Who really cares though if your already set in the direction you want to run to.

One time there was an apc and a vodnik gunner ganging up on me and I was about to die. As they started shooting at me, by accident, I dropped the flash bang at my feet. Of course I was flashed but so were the other two guys. I made a break for it and found a medic pretty close by, got healed, and ended up getting the one guy in the vodnik with a TOW.

For me, the FB is inferior to the regular grenade, but better than the smoke nade. It doesn't work AT ALL effectively if the guy isn't like 10 feet away and looking right at it. If they arn't looking at it, it's like 1 second ur blinded. I still prefer playing support and spamming nades until somebody dies. It works, it wastes ammo, but i mean, i'm support, i never don't have ammo.

Re: Why is flashbang better than a grenade?

The best use I've found for flashbangs is against armor. Grenades won't do spit against a tank, but a flashbang will blind him long enough for you to get to a TOW and put an end to him.

The other night I flashed a tank then laughed my arse off when he freaked and drove off a cliff to his doom.

The single bast FB toss I've ever made was against an attack chopper. He was flying low and slow letting his gunner turn our troops into lumpy salsa. I was rather screwed. Out of GL rounds, caught far away from anything that could be used to hurt him, and driectly in his path.
Sooooo, I tossed a flashbang. Nice 'n high. It airbursted right infront of him (yeah, fluke! I'll admit it). I watched him wobble a bit, then lose control and turf it into the ground.

                          I couldn't quit smiling.

nice, and like said, i usually use the FB for escape from AH, and Armor.

Flashbangs have a higher area of effect than grenades. They can also blind vehicles, which is very useful to the C4ers killing the tanks. But the main thing to remember is that they dont replace normal grenades, just the smoke grenades. You get a noob tube with the flashbang, and the creators of the game wouldn't give you a grenade and a grenade launcher anyways. What I'd like to know, is why are people complaining about this if the flashbang doesnt replace a normal grenade, it only replaces the smoke grenade???
