EA's response to the buggy Warlord map...

For those of you who are having technical difficulties when you go into the palace and some other places on the Warlord map, I just wanted to let you all know that EA either doesn't know about it or doesn't care. They will only refer you to their support forums, which we all know are useless.

Every time I play Warlord, I ask everyone in the server if they have lag issues on this map, and a lot of people answer yes. With the system that I list in my signature, I have issues on this map, even after a reformat and fresh install of XP, fresh install of the game, and all the most up to date drivers and BIOS. I've had to turn some settings down just to make this map playable, and that is completely ridiculous.

I used to get angry when people would complain so much about the bugginess of this game, but the bugginess has finally touched my life as well. So much in fact that I might wait until next month when I have my new gaming PC to even try it again. Warlord always slows down to a crawl, and sometimes even crashes my system. If any of you are having this problem, PLEASE COMPLAIN TO EA!!!!!!

Palace in Warlord = BF2's temple of lag?

Putting the sound on "software" does not work. I have always had it on that setting.

Look at my system specifications.....and I have lag too!!

Anyway, thats why I don't play SF anymore. If EA doesn't fix it, then I don't play SF, period. If EA releases another expansion, I will wait next time and see what the feed-back and reviews are. If it turns out its a piece of crap like SF then I wont buy it. Sooner or later EA will get the pictire when sales are not what they expect.

I love the temple I feel like scarface with my GP- 30 when the SAS is rushing the front door but it does lag a little once you in the hallway.

It's not because of your system or because of your connection. The map was coded poorly, and as a result we have to pay for it with massive amounts of lag. Complaining to EA is not going to do anything, they don't even read those forums.

Re: EA's response to the buggy Warlord map...

SF was rushed due to christmas sales profits... I found a way to keep warlord pretty smooth even in a 64 player server. And i was playing bf2vanilla on all ultra-high 6xaa 100vd

I set all my options to high , resolution 800x600 (gay but really really smoothed it for me) 6xaa 100vd. Change your res to 800x600.
Also adding atleast another 512 ram to that 1 gig will help immensly this poorly coded rushed pice of software demands a lot of memory. also alt tab out of game and right click task manager set priority of bf2 and ~e5001 or whatever to high.

Don't know because my system specs aren't nearly as nice as yours...

                    And I run Warlord fine.

Warlord runs fine on my box too. Just gotta remember to pop my chute if I spawn on the drop location at the beginning of the map, hehehehe.

Re: EA's response to the buggy Warlord map...

it's all about rendering, the BF2 engine isn't made for complex indoor situations.

Many lag for people in the iron gator and places like warlord temple, causing heave duty on there machines and causing lag on server, giving the rest some connection lag, making the place totaly crap.

Reason, I think is this .

BF2 engine isn't an effective one, your system has to render tons and tons, this is the fact on the normal maps who are open .

On maps like warlord and iron gator , sudenly the engine has to render a very complex indoor situation, all those walls, doors, sealings, floors, .... everything has to be in the system, this for not getting situation like shooting true walls and crap.

I have not seen any lag on any maps. That would point me to system spec being the issue. If the code was flawed"everyone" would share the problem.

While I agree that EA/DICE have consistenly screwed things, I wonder if this issue isn't related to having to have a power gamer rig to cope.

                            Im on:

AMD Athlon 3700+ San Diago S939
                            GB K8NXP-9 n-Force4 Motherboard
                            1GB PC3200 Corsair Value Select RAM (1x1GB)
                            Chaintek nVidia 6600 256MB
                            160GB SATA II 7,200RPM Harddrive
                            Soundblaster Live! 5.1 (don't worry x-fi next week :) )
                            12x Pioneer DVDr/rw
WiFi 54mpbs at 15m from router

                            Settings on:
All medium besides dynamic lights/shadows which are on low
                            2x AA, Low AF
                            1204x1028 @ 75htz

No lag what-so-ever on either of the maps mentioned. However if I turn some of the other settings on High tear gas and night vision starts to become a worry. I run at a constant 30fps and the occasional drop to 20 with a peak of about 60fps.

Mabey certain drivers/hardware configs are causing this?
