before you know it .. EA will be selling "official HACKS" to anyone who "pays" for it ..
how would the rest feel then?

this is just dumb of EA to incorporate SF with the normal BF2

      HELLYA!

      Can you complain about it?

      Nope!

      So what's the differance here?
Comparing a "gaming rig" and the game itself are 2 different things.
People should be playing the "same" game with the same rules, objectives and equipment, regardless of what machine specs they can afford.

Think of it as a marathon race. Every competitor should be running the same race-track as per the rules. Those who are "rich" should not be able to "buy" a shortcut through to the finishline. HOWEVER, (like machine specs), every competitor has its own right to train in a different strategy or wear any shoes they want (nike, addidas, etc) - which can boost their performance levels. Which is OK. But, as long as everyone is competiting EQUALLY - no one getting preferential treatment (like for eg. in the Special Forces, people have flash bangs, and ropes, etc .. which even though its not obvious HOW its advantageous, its still different from regular BF2 players).

      Just my thoughts.

Its wrong for EA to try to make people to buy the expansion because of new weapons but don't complain too much. Most SF players still play on SF servers/maps and besides the only real unlock thats signifigantly better than VBF2 unlocks is the F2000, and thats because it has a noob tube. Give me a SCAR-H in VBF2 and THEN you can complain about imbalance.

O yeah and flashbangs aren't that useful, as someone else said, if it was a nade then you would be dead anyways.

THERE IS NO PROBLEM!! The stuff you get in SF isn't any better, just looks cool. I get killed just as much with the SCAR-L as I do with anything else.

Either buy SF or get over it.

This kinda reminds me of the bitching about the unlocks, <Cry> "Its not fair they all have unlocks and i only play 10 minutes a week and i want 10,000 points so i can have 2 unlock guns" </Cry> hehehe... Come on.... Either buy it or deal with it, but quit the TK'n that goes on for our new weapons, they arnt that wonderfull. I still play with vanilla weapons in VBF2 over the unlocks anyways.

I think they should be able to use the new equipment. This game is mirroring some real life aspects. The elite military units always have the best weapons and toys to use. The main stream units in vanilla BF2 should have the Gas mask, but after that you get basic load outs.

If you choose not to buy, that is your choice, but it isn't unfair of EA/Dice to allow those who purchased the expansion to play in all servers with the new equipment.. Exactly and it doesn't create a inbalance becuase if it did it would ruin BF2 for everyone.

The new wepaons are NOT better there just different. Sying there better is like saying the G3 is better than the M16 which is bollocks its just different, personally i far prefer the M16.

The expansion merely give you new toys to play with it doesn't give you a advantage.

Special Forces is an expansion pack of a new era. Why is it an expansion pack of the new era? It is because it allows you to expand your cool new gear(some of the gear...) into the older game.

Sucks how I can't use my tear gase, and climbing gear in normal game.....

Did we really need a whole new thread about this?

I mean, this guy started this thread like it was some kind of new discovery, even though there must be five threads just like it.

Also, since the orginal poster is a bit out of touch, I guess he missed the info on how to get SF unlocks for his BF vanilla account.

                    Poor guy.

i bought bf2 with the idea that i was buying a product that would give everything it obviously said or showed that it contained, and NOTHING ELSE! for the people that arent smart enough to figure out what some of those things are... the many... many, MANY! bugs it STILL has after multiple patches and this expansion. how many of you would have bought bf2 with the knowledge beforehand that eventually you would have to pay more money to keep up with the crowd? hell no i wouldnt, i also wouldnt if i knew that all the damn bugs would still exist after how ever many months have passed by now. damn i'd be so happy if i could just return the game and get my money back. my only hope thats left goes to the mods and the satisifaction that i'll never buy another EA product again, including the expansion

Re: Why are people with BF2:SF able to use new stuff in BF2?

What many people fail to realize is that integrating the new weapons into vanilla BF2 ruins the balance. It doesn't matter if the new weapons can get the same amount of kills or not (this is not for you to decide for the rest of us, it's for the individual player), it's that regular players playing BF2 gets an disadvantage by not having the same amount of options as SF players do, in a regular game of BF2.

We're not talking about running in marathons... we're talking about playing a game. There is nothing serious about it. If there is, then someone has a *problem*.

                          This is purely recreational.

Now, if those SF weapons had broken the play balance and made the game un-fun, I would have NOT picked up SF and would have instead walked away from the franchise.

The bottom line remains that if you want more stuff, you gotta support the product.
Cough up a few bucks... it ain't gonna break the bank.

                            So my question is this:

I have seen two or three people state that if you go to your friends house, log into their copy of BFSF using YOUR account and get the unlocks, they go with you?

Something does not sound right about that to me.

                            Can someone explain it better?

Re: Why are people with BF2:SF able to use new stuff in BF2?

I dont think the argument is that people are too cheap to go out and buy the expansion. I think the argument is that people are used to the way things were and would like to see these "SF unique" items stay in SF.
I went out and bought that peice of garbage SF and find it almost unplayable due to the unbalance of the game and the crashes and lag. The only thing that BF2 does right with these weapons is make them available to both the Mecanese and Americanese, whereas in SF only the "Allied" units have these weapons at their disposal.
I vote that BF stay BF and let SF be SF
