Re: Analysis of BF2:SF (Mature only)

Thanks for the posts, I guess I just need to throw myself into it.

I think they did a great job with the maps. I think coop play is much more important in SF than in Vanilla.

    Thx.

Sorry for the lack of porn...

<quote>The only scenario here taking out squads consistently would be possible is in some type of very close quarters like Kharkand where the enemy is basically funnelled into your position, down an alley or something. And then you can only do it with an MG,preferably PKM, as long as your barrel doesn't overheat.<quote>

Personal experience: Play engineer. Place Mines in scattered high traffic areas around flag for DEFENSE. Hide in the dark. Wait for AGE members (obvious squad) to trickle in.
Lob grenade in at flag. Kill 2. startle APC into backing into one of your mines. 2 more kills. ATV runs through hits mine. check 1. humvee rolls in so throw grenade in back. check 2. after all is done. 9 kills with very little effort in about 30 seconds. Engy is very potent if used correctly.

The key to icing whole squads is choosing your location. I have a spot by the Suburbs on Karkand from whence I can dispatch whole squads with ease. Sometimes I'll even let the resident Medic revive the fallen, just so I can kill them again. I love it when the squad leader hangs back too, because it's like a faucet of kills for me. It's no coincidence that I have more CP Defense points per hour than anyone in the Top 10.

I've found the carbines, grenades and C4 to be the most efficient tools for squad-whacking. C4, in particular, gives you the ability to be in more than one place at a time. You can place C4 in one position and then move to another, giving you the chance to shoot in one spot and set off explosives in another - it causes much confusion.

          Good post.

I also haven't played any BF2 for quite a while since COD2. However I saw SF in the shops to day and am tempted to buy it, to see if it changes the gameplay experience, but I think your post may have outlined some of my fears (e.g, Special forces - tons new weapons, Insurgents - clicks and mortar!).

Without jumping the gun so to speak, are there enough more significant gameplay additions in this new release to justify it's purchase? Is it BF2 with wires and grappling hooks, or does it force the player in to stealth and skill rather than the usual "free for all"?

I'd like to experience it, I'm just not sure if it's worth the cash at the moment...

          Thanks in advance!

          Peace out!
