Upgraged from 1GB to 2GB Ram. Good Improvement

I noticed SF really lagged on my machine so I decided to upgrade from 1GB dual channel to 2GB.

I see a great improvement. Especially when the map first loads. Before my frame rates would really lag for the first 20 seconds and sometimes when the action got intense it would again. Hard drive would have to kick in.

Now things run much better. Only about 2 sec lag at start while things load in and much better throughout the match.

Loading time is about the same but verification time is a lot better.

Just thought I would post incase anyone else was thinking about an upgrade.

I went from 768mb to 1.768 GB of ram and the difference was night and day. I now play the game with all settings on high and 2x FSAA but with med. textures and the games never lags. before with only 768mb of ram i had to play on med settings across the board.

Ram makes a big difference in this game.

You better change your sig then:

Nit-pickey error but it would actually be 1.75GB. 1GB is 1024MB.

map loading is alot faster. you'll be the 1st ones to get the toys.

I totally agree. I upgraded a few days ago and boy BF2 is very smooth now :)

Thanks for posting, as i'm looking at upgrading to 2 GIG for my Dell lap top as some times the frame rates on some servers are horrable.

Go all in if your going to upgrade. You won't regret it.
I've got this and it runs great even with a 9800 pro. Everything on high with dynamic stuff turned off.

My old comp had 1gig and my new one has 2gigz and it mad a BIG diffrence but since SF came out even with my 2 cards I noticed FPS drops still playable but not what I would expect with two cards!!! lol

What drivers are you guys on?
