The weapon with the red scope doesn't look like an M16. It's probably an M4 or CAR-15.

That is what BF2 would have been like if they had made it with the HL-2 engine.
I think I read somewhere that it was impossible to do and maintain the scope of the "Battlefield" idea. From what I read, you would need one of those giant uber computers running at a billion terraflops to run it.

I'm happy with the current BF2, but thats RIB would never have lasted that long, a couple of shots from the cobra and BOOM!

i bet all these will come back in the future expansion packs. If they would have given you all of that then you would have been able to make more money on it later so they showed you what it will be after 100 expansion packs and then took it all away until you gave them $30/expansion.

Oh, but that doesnt make too much sence, woulnt it act just like iron sights do?

Re: Compare this to the BF2 that we own.

I really do honestly doubt that. The animation makes it look entirely conceptual, aka what they wanted to build, and what we have is the best they could come up with in the time frame allowed. Sure if they worked for year after year on the game, then maybe you would have something like that, economics dictates, that they will have a deadline, they can only sell the game for so much, there are only so many FPS gamers out there. So someone has to pay the wages of all the people, publishers, devs, advertising, packaging even testers.

So really it's unfeasible to think they could pull of the physics by the deadline, let alone anything else, and have it released within, or even close to deadline.

Edit: I was referring to the quote about using the HL 2 engine, it's not designed for massive wide open spaces, nor to cope with 64 players within those wide open spaces.

Also, you can tell it's entirely conceptual footage, do you think it ever looked that good, yet also loaded so quickly?

Duke 3d doesn't even load that quickly

Nope it would suck if it ran off source...If everything had physics your computer would explode...not to mention the hard core hit box issue the source engine has...

No to mention there is no climbing ladders(no instantly floating up a ladder isnt climbing), walking around feels like you are roller blading...over all its not that great of an engine...
