Does Artillery Belong in SF ?

When I think of SF (and this comes from personal experience), I think of the latest in personal weapons. I think of stealth and suprise. I think of tactics that will define the winner. I don't think of artillery.

I think the only thing that ticks me off about the new SF add-on is (especially playing Warlord or Ghost Town) when a malcontent commander uses artillery to take out one well-placed sniper or other guy who is doing well. This is an urban map. I am glad they took out the jets. Great move! But they could have taken the artillery out too! If the enemy SF guys can't move into place to remove a threat, then so be it. Artillery ****es me off (especially in urban settings). Too bad there are not civilians in the game who cause the commander to lose points when they are hit. The more one-on-one SF action, the better. Artillery screws up the spirit of the game.

Well if you want to go all Special ops like get rid of the UAV, the sat, artillery, and supply drops and you will have a 100% real life game.

arty somewhat makes sense in bf2, does not belong in SF, at all.

I find artilery the biggest crap in the game, not only SF but also BF2 , it's crap, every good infantry fight gets broken by artilery, you get killed by it while you can't do anything about it, and now the commander doesn't get even TK's for it, they just drop arty and arty and arty where they feel like, teammates or not, who cares, wurst thing in the game !!!

Play as commander a little, you will begin to like artillery.

As us Navy Seals raid Devil's perch from a submarine, they had enough time to drop two artillery guns, a UAV station, and a sat com. MEC's should lose the war just for being dumb enough to let someone sneak all that equipment under their nose. How the SAS dropped all that equipment off as they parachuted down is beyond me, the insurgents clearly stole their stuff as you can tell by looking at it's condition. :/

Maybe if the artillary just droped 1 shell per cannon than it would be fine in BF2 but in SF The Commander should not get any assets from BF2 maybe only the asset to order the special forces places would be fine?

Yeah get it out, it ruins infantry battles, lags the game and is just generally anoying.

Cruise missiles instead of arty. some precision, but only one in a time.

The Commande can control it himself, like the wire guided heli robots

On Devils perch it could be fired from the sub,

                      Just a thought

WAIT I GOT IT!!! Who saw tears of the sun? Well in it they use close air support becase they are in one of the many countries of Africa and we all know the country is surrounded by ocean well their base which is an aircraft carrier sends two F-(?) and the SEALS put up some smoke and the planes hit the area killing the enemies.

THAT COULD WORK!!!! It would bel ike in the modern combat beta with the laser target. You lock on and an unseen plane blows the target.

You took the words from my mouth. I thought it seemed kinda weird having arty dropped while you are safe and snug inside of a building while all hell is breaking loose.

What ****ed me off was when I was in the second floor of that cargo plane and artillery hit and killed me. I WAS UNDER COVER IN THE SECOND FLOOR!!!
