We were hacked. Several times over the past two weeks, in fact.
While all passwords are encrypted and salted, it's recommended that you change your password here when you can.
Only the default (TGN Light) theme for now. Dark them is also coming back soon. Then CSN. Then Wrestlin' Nation. A lot of WIP stuff right now. There are a couple of things still not working either. Sorry.
My specs are....AMD Athlon XP 1800+
1.53 GHz
768 MB of RAM
NVIDIA GeForce FX 5500 256 MB
I know i dont have the greatest computer...but like i said, i have played with these same specs for 2 months error free...maybe it is my specs, but why could i play all yesterday?
Im thinking its some setting or hidden program or something that i have no idea about.
I think you said you were running 512MB of memory right? If your using two sticks of RAM (memory), shut the computer down, open the case and take one stick out and try to get back into the game. It may be slower, but the goal here is to find out if your memory has gone bad. If the system does not crash and your game loads, other than being slow, you have identified a possible culprit for your woes.
If you take the first stick out and then start it up and the problem persists, shut it back down and put the first stcik back in and pull the other out.
I'm beginning to think your having a memory problem.
One other thing would be to (assuming your video card has one) check the fan on the video card and make sure its spinning. Your card could be overheating and this would cause a similar problem.
To Zagor. Quite strange, i start up with bf2, but my pc states "Boot from cd " as if it an xp cd, but it obviously doesn't. What operating system are you running ?
My states the same "boot from cd" thing, but right after that it shut down, and restart and keep doing the same over and over unless I take the cd out,and then start ok.But the strange thing is that it does'nt do it all the time:sometime it start just find.:shakehead
I'm running:
Window xp service pack2
amd Athlon 3000+
nvidia GeForce fx5600 (soon to be replaced with 6800gs:p )
2g ram(1 g stick, 2 x 512 stick)
Now that I'm thinking about,it started to happen right about when I put in the last 512 m ram stick....anything to do about?

Even though I doubt this problem is a graphical issue, it won't hurt to try this.
Right click your desktop
Properties>Settings>Advanced>Troubleshoot
There should be a little checkable box at the bottom that is labled Enable Write Combining
By default, this setting is checked.
Uncheck it.
If that doesn't work, or you don't have those options, I suggest you run a spyware and antivirus scan.
Also, do you have the latest drivers for your graphics card?
Well i tried the idea with the RAM...i took my 256MB out and tried it with just my 512MB...and it didnt work. Rebooted itself when loading server...so i did the oppisite...and also rebooted itself while loading server, almost at the same time.
I didnt think it was my ram because all my other games work fine.
Some program might be making it reboot, I have no idea why but all I know is if I run Iolo Macro Magic while BF2 is loading a map it will reboot the machine, if I just shut Macro Magic down before launching BF2 the problem goes away
I think RivaTunner might also prove to be a problem, SpeedFan too, just terminate all process in your task manager and try again.
So i went 'CTRL-ALT-DELETE' and my task manager comes up...i hit the process tab and i have 46 processes running...is that bad? As i write this my CPU usage ranges from 10%-0%. If i end all processes will that hurt my computer or terminate anything i dont want to terminate. does it delete anything i need that i wont get back...just asking these crazy questions cause i dono...:hmm:
if theres too many process in your task manager, then start by terminating the programs on your bottom-right task bar, those are usually the first programs that intefere with games, if all those are terminated and game still reboots all I can say is kill the processes one by one.
Then, restart and log into the new account you created. Try to run your game. If you run without issue we have figured it out to be a software issue and then one by one, you will have to shut programs down to see which one is causing the problem in the other account.
This is a quick and dirty way to answer the question of hardware vs. software issues.
well i made a new user...and from the new user i started BF2 and found a server and tried to join it, but it said 'Invalid CD Key'..im guessing because i have BF2 in my other user...not sure. But i searched options and all the menus and couldnt find anything about CD Keys....but my comp did not restart itself..but i also didnt get to load a server. So what do i need to do to play in my other user with my CD Key?
