Re: Is the SF pack worth getting?
1st off, YES, it is worth the money if you like the game.
"It just seems to me that many games do this for free. Off the top of my head Total Annihilation (I know a long time ago), Enemy Territory (was free lol), and a bunch of others in other genres."
How can you even compare ET and BF2??? Bf2 is lightyears ahead of ET engine wise. The complexity of BF2 means inevitable problems and hiccups but any game you can name has had updates and such to fix problems. It's no different then any other fps I've played in that respect, and if you've ever played mods then you are used to updates etc. The more complex the game the more problems, but when everything is runnung smooth the game is superior to most games on the market in almost every sense. BF2 also has a huge amount of players battling at all times of the day. Keeps me satisfied. SF is just more of a good thing. Why bash it? When your playing it you will see that the "few" new items and weapons add many more options even though you might feel like EA is not giving you enough for your money. Try using these items before you dismiss SF. No plane whoring, YAY!!! I find the 8 new maps, new weapons and vehicles, nv and gas mask add alot and drastically change gameplay to merit 29 measley dollars I'll blow at the pub otherwise. GL, hope you get it, updates will come and you can still have fun in the meantime.
