No, it's not new info to me either, the game just drains so much RAM that i can barly play, i could play fine before the patch.

Well, that part we agree with.

I really do think EA/Dice did a crap job of optimizing the game though. You can take a Pinto and slap as much tinted pearl as you want to it, then throw a nice set of rims on it, in the end, you still have a Pinto at heart. IE you can make it look as hot as you want, but it is still the same old Refractor engine being tossed at you with just a few more shiny trimmings.

The one thing they did fix though, was the network code on the part of walking on static objects.

actually the number of the ppl who are having tech problems with BF2 is much greater than what you've seen. have u seen me complaining about crash on the forums? but do u have any idea how painful it is that the game crashes every 10 minutes when you are flying jets in the sky? so u always have to restart the goddamn computer when u've got a decent K/D ratio. my friend who has a AMD FX-57 + 6800 ultra machine is still having the crash problem. dont these facts mean "DICE has some of the worst programmers in the world" to you?

does any1 remember the source engine made by steam? hell, half-life 2 crashes on my pc, its the software, not hardware problem. it is actually DICE's fault the BF2 engine crashes sometimes, well still a great game eh?

Well thats just my opinion. If it is that you meet minimum requirements and the game doesn't work that I owe you all an apology for my post. However my friend has a copy of BF2 and his system is a tad above minimum and it runs fine for him on all low settings.

i wil never hate EA i know EA got good games but BF2 has many bug i could play on med setting but now whit new patch ist all laggy and u cant tell me that my comp is up2date i got a fresh comp only mabye my videocard but i could play on med

but patch 1.21 i think this patch bring more bugs then solve the bugs

So your mad at EA for creating a game that is kick @ss but it keeps failing on your computer? You get connection issues, drop to your desktop and constantly laggy game sessions. Well I had all these problems to. I was going to throw out my copy of BF2 and never look back. But then I realized that, even though BF2 is a game with many bugs it wasn't becuase of those bugs that it isn't working on my computer. I then proceeded and upgraded my computer:

-AMD Athalon 3500+
-7800GT

That is all I upgraded. As soon as I went to play BF2...IT WORKED!! So what does this tell you? If you can't get BF2 working on your machine, then your MACHINE IS PROBABLY OUT OF DATE. So upgrade or get an entire new machine to play BF2. It isn't EA's fault that they made a very big game that requires a lot of system recources. So please stop posting about how you HATE EA and they suck becuase its not them its most likely you.

Lesson 3: Visually stunning products require high-end hardware.

I really don't think BF2 is significantly more visually stunning than things that were done on the BF42 engine in proportion with the system requirements they are demanding now. You must have never played DC.

If your looking to sell a visually stunning product to make alot of money, then you need to optimize it to run beatifully on an average system make it look ****in fantastic on a high end system. Now, they do make it look truly wonderful on a high end system, but made it look less than BF42 on medium settings. When you design a game, you have to design it with with the majority of people in mind, and the majority of people have an average system or one that is about 1-2 years old, so basically you should build it with the computers in mind that are high end at the time you start development on a game, because that is the majority of the people out there.

I was gonna do this the other day, but never got around to it (80fps at that sshot), DC on the old BF42 engine, nice:

Just to mention: on 1.02 I had all settings at high, 4x antialias. After 1.03 all medium, no antialias. AMD 3000+, 2 gigs memory, X800 XT, SATA RAID harddrives. It seems somewhere around the release of the patch, my system just gone out of date, heh?

Its not because machines are out of date but generally because Ea didn't make the game compatable with many types of computers new and old. Though is generally might be the old ones its not always the case. There was this guy who posted here saying it wasn't compatable with his widesceen moniter.
