It's so stupid, especially when you're talking about global ranking systems.

If you buy SF, you have the chance of getting a better score with better weapons. Maybe that's not true and you might suck with the new weapons... but you'll never know until you use them enough. Obviously, you can't do that by stealing kits.

So, EA has effectively told their customers that they have to "deal with it", unless they are ready to pay up. It's like rubbing it in your face until you buy it...

It's a cheap strategy and it only shows that EA is starting to get its ass kicked in the sales department. They need money bad... and they are willing to kill a franchise with a huge community following to do it.

I'm not buying SF, for exactly these reasons.

Anyone who says that EA & DICE actually THOUGHT through the features they were going to put into this game, is obviously blind as a bat.

It is so apparent taht EA & DICE had a huge battle between the money hungry people that care about deadlines and sales, and the creative people who cared about making the game great (mercenary DC devs perhaps?)..
I agree, I serously doubt that I'll buy it.

    Thats £20 I earn £28 a week, I'm a college student in the UK, I have college
9-4.30 every week day get home at 6ish, I work Saturdays 9-5.30 get home at 6ish. Thats a considerable amount of money to me, and I refuse to be forced to buy a game so that I can have guns that others are killing me with?

I understand that its not a lot to you, but I spend enough on getting back and forth to college, food, keeping this rig (as crap as it is) going and inbetween that I'm supposed to have a life too [/vent]

I know this isn't the point you're trying to make, but dude, get a better paid job, you work 9.5 hours a week and earn £28? That's £3 per hour, talk about slave labour, where do you work?

£3 an hour is slave labour, Minimum wage for Under 16s, but I work 8.5 hours a week, (9-5.30) 30mins is taken up with lunch. I get payed £3.50 an hour, its not exactly frigging better but it was hard enough to find a job around here, and its a ****ty little loacla supermarket thinf.

sorry i dont have screenies youll just have to take my word for it. I can see this becomeing a major problem in the enjoyment of the game for those who own BF2:SF and playing with other (non SF) chappies.

Ty EA lol this is gonna be fun :|:
Oh, I take your word for it because it's already happened to me several times. I will say this...if any little punks TK me to take my SF unlocks, they might as well leave the server because I will come and bitch slap you every opportunity I get. So don't complain when I TK you if you've TK'd me to take my weapons. You want my unlocks? Join my squad and you can have 'em when I get legitimately killed. But don't do dumb*** sh*t like TK'ing to get them.

There is a mass amount of content that didn't make it into the game. There were many promises that were made... which were never implemented. The original website had one description, while the game box had another, and the info released to the public was something else. By the end, EA quickly patched this information up. I am not going to go over these features again, do a forum search.
No, please do. Where did EA PROMISE to include these "missing" features? Why did you even bothered to BUY BF2 since there aren't these precious missing sounds or features and since you only found these missing sounds AFTER you bought the game?

It's also evident because EA & DICE made many promises as to what they were planning to do with the game (managing your clan using BF2HQ, stuff like that). In fact, if you look through the BF2 files, you will notice there is a flash menu of what the original BF2 menu was supposed to be. You can do so much more with that.
Again they PROMISED to include these features? When/Where?
I guess I've just spend so much more time playing bf2 than fiddling the menus to really even care about the handy dandy supermenu.

The fact that these promises were made public, means that they were cleared by BF2's PR department. Which also means that alot of people knew what was being said. Which also means, at the time, they really thought this was going to get done.
Promises? Did they vow their hands on a bible to include these essential missing radiosounds or menus? If they publicize info on game, it doesn't mean that they have to put this in the game if they can't/don't want to.

They initially started out with Gamespy. Obviously, the plan was to stay with them for a long time. The contract was cut and new one had to be made with another company. This is a loss of money.. big money.
And the other company obviously didn't pay them big money. Nope, EA did it just for s**ts&giggles..

There is nothing to know about SF. New maps + new weapons + new vehicles. Nothing different.
Nothing is different with the mods either even if they have new maps + new weapons + new vehicles. Sure they can stamp a ww2 all over their mod but the core still remains as a Battlefield game. AddOns generally add new features (like zipline, grapling hook, gas, flashbangs)/stuff to the game instead of trying to do a total conversion. That's what the sequels are for.

This is not worth money, as modders are developing this same stuff for free (at most likely, at a better quality and more variety).
The SF maps are actually good. I actually even played them :). Even the zipline and grapling hook are great. You haven't played these mods yet, or the SF (?), but already KNOW that the mods will be better? Oh, I forgot, they're not made by EA so they're automaticly better..

Gotta go now.. my damn kids are crying again since I wasted our 30€ food money on SF. Oh well, few years of hard labour in a coal mine will balance our economy again. Damn you EA!!

I guess the money hungry execs at Activision, Ubisoft, Id, and others are too since most expansion seem to run about $30 too.

Why don't you just boycott PC games?

It's all a matter of principle. The disgruntled vanilla players who don't want to dish out $30 for a patch have actually been given a window to unlock SF weapons: the fabulous TK. Too funny. It's the only reason I would even patch the game.

It's a ploy by EA to get people to buy SF. I wouldn't in my lifetime buy SF.

The vanilla BF2 players clearly have a disadvantage over the SF players simply because they have more weapons to resort to.

EA should've left all the SF stuff to SF, not integrate it into BF2.

So, I'm to understand just because I paid 30 bucks at release, I suddenly have a huge advantage in BF2 against those that didn't buy it? I'm sorry, but did I miss the logic in that statement?

How does me having an F2000 make me more deadly than if I used my AK-101? The little plus signed cross hair does NOT make the weapon more accurate... just less of a learning curve when you aim. Flashbangs? Urrmmm.. okay.. It just takes me 2 more seconds to kill you since I now have to pause, flash, shoot, move on, instead of just pause, toss nade, move on... I haven't tried gas on non-SF, does that work?

Please, enlighten this confuzzled player of BF2 who purchased SF the day of release and fully enjoys the lagged out night maps, nuances of NVG's, and getting to run around as full fledged NAVY SEAL.. HOOYAH!!

Yeah it's becoming total chaos when your own Team is killing you for weapons, so now you have to look out for the enemy AND your team. I was TK'd by my own Squad Member for Spec Ops gun, I left obviously, but just the chaos to get an advantage..of what?? Hate to say it but I will follow that dude around until he dies, or just forget about it, I was TK'd 6 times last night in Kark for the weapons, finally had enough and left.

All the SF players will get sick of players tking them for guns and thus, stay away from regular servers.. also known as Mugging Servers. Kill & Mug.
