I think every vehicle in this game is well balanced, useful, and fits, except the god damn jets. What do y'all think?

The jets are cool and all.. but the problem is you got all these
kiddies fighting over them all game long.. AND more often than not
whoever is flying them just drops the bombs on anything that moves
including teammates.. Happens to me every game at least once..

Its not the jets thats the problem, its the kiddies who play this game..

Look at their scores at the end of the rounds, TEAM POINTS are zilch.

You're poll isn't quite fair. Just because we use jets doesn't mean we whore them and have no skill. I bet you wouldn't be complaining if the AA never missed would you.

No it won't be better. I am a plane whore with bucket loads of skill. Flying a jet, taking out people, boats, cars etc with its mounted guns not BOMBS is difficult and if you could do that I don't think you should be termed as "noob".

Boats and cars are easy to destroy with the cannons. I won't deny that flying jets takes skill, but even I can destroy cars and boats with the guns and I can't possibly have more than a hour logged as a pilot. *goes to check*

Armor is a bit different since you need to do multiple passes to chew through their health, but it's the same concept really.

you played too much counter strike before... i wont vote because i have skills and the 2nd option does not concerns me. its an honnor to be a good jet pilot... those who are not are just not pacient ans skilled enough to say jets just need to be out of this game... anyway it wont be... play SF if you want not me.

95% of BF2 players have something bad to say about this game... me included. i just wont say it cuz everybody know it...

Re: Would BF2 be a better game without jets?

Jets are too involved with the action on the ground. I'd like to see two changes:

                1) Most air to air combat happens higher up, where the lowest that jets venture is to take out helicopters

                2) Most air to ground combat is controlled; that is, planes cannot drop bomb payloads willy-nilly, and need a laser spot or target from infantry in order to deliver the big boom (also as a possible replacement for artillery)

1st--> need a much larger map and much more view distance(im talking about 4X to 10X the already existent distance)
2nd--> more whiners will talk and show themselves...(not me cuz i will be up there 50,000feet high)
3rd--> todays pc wont allow such big worlds

im on your side but you must not forget what EA said: "BF2 wil be a mid-realistic game"
so, jets flying at mach 1.5 and bombing from 60,000 feet altitude is way too far to be virually possible today in the comfort of your home. combat simulators (ground-air) exist in the real army... but i will never join it!

i forgot something important to say and don't remember so i will stay right there.

I think that DICE could find a happy medium.

ya know what a good game for air combat is Operation Flashpoint. the levels are massive you can download new vehicles all the time. Operation Flashpoint 2 looks at these screen shots http://www.gamespot.com/pc/action/op...reenindex.html
its freakin amazing i hope you can be a civilian like you could in the first one you could actually fly a small civilian plane. it was fun to fly over the battle field w/ it

Dr-X my sentiments exactly. Arty does nothing but screw up the flow of the game. Ground forces manuver into position for battle and arty ruins all the work and preparation. Now they have removed the commanders punish for team killing the only thing that kept him in check.Jets are in the same category no effective way to deal with them, AA is totally ineffective leaving them out of control. The only players that differ are the pilots that fly them.

I guess you are not someone who would want to join the army :p

In a real war, (unlike Iraq's camel shoot), nothing is fare for you. Enemy will not stop artilitary because its "unfair", jets would not stop bombing you because you dont like it.

Maybe a more correct title for the poll should be, should BF2 turn into arcade counter strike or remain a modern battlefield simulation (which is not always fair)

and just a note, in real life heat seeking missiles miss 90% of the time, just like in the game. (do some research).

I find it hysterical that teamwork makes you more vulnerable to arty, but other than that, teamwork pwns all.

                              BF2 is a game, not a simulator.
