In other words, removing jets from the game is the same as voting lets all turn BF2 into CS.
(infact theres another thread about this)
Not really at all, go play Special Forces and come back to tell me that its CS now cause they don't have jets. It is nothing like CS and I was very into that game.
I think they would be with a score overhaul, same as tanks and everything else.
Sorry to cross thread, but seriously, some ******* swoops on by and unloads over a squad trying to cap a flag. He gets what, 4 or 5 kills depending on how spread out you are in 3 seconds.
I run out behind a tank, risking life and limb, trying to flank the bastard while he aint looking, and BOOM, I plant the C4 run and detonate.
I get 2 kills if I'm lucky. After it's taken me a good few minutes of scouting bush around my teams flag. Where this guy is tearing them a new *******, simply so I can get there without being noticed.
And as for why I don't jump in a jet and go do some damage well 1. Because I can't fly to save myself. But more importantly, 2. I really enjoy playing the role of special forces running around on foot attempting to be sneaky and l337.
So why am I whinging when Im having fun? Cause I worked damn hard to get to that tank to get a single kill. I didn't just cross uncrossable terrain, well above danger, swoop down, and press a button.
I had to think and use tactics, and actually play the game as it's meant to be played, yet, I'm the one that's worse off.
I don't agree with taking them out of the game....just remove the Noob Targeting Bombing Boxes that they have showing them where every enemy occupied vehicle is and make the pilots use their brain a little bit.
They can keep the Air to Air boxes.
ok then take away infantry crosshairs
Jets are part of the battlefield, like it or not. It shouldn't be incredibly easy to kill jets. Hell, as it is I find myself rarely getting killed consistently by jets except on Cleansweep, where airpower is *heavily* dominant on who wins the map. This is BF2 not CS.
LOL land to rearm...just like in BF42? At least now you don't have like 15 payloads before you have to rearm is one pass rearm...in bf42 it was 15 passes rearm...
I could be without the planes, yes. Having planes drop bombs on spawnpoints , and then be back 20 sec later to do the same thing over and over again just kills the gameplay.
What needs to be done is missile improvements, which will benifit both ground AA and jets, making it both easier for ground AA to shoot down jets and noob pilots to shoot down any other air vehicle.
Removing jets on the other hand is just like saying turn BF2 into CS, if you dont like what BF2 is about nobody is preventing you to go back to CS.
If a jet managed to kill 5 people capping a flag, its those 5 people's falult. Jets cant see infantry on foot, if you all decided to stand together in the open, you are giving anyone that sees you 5 free kills, a tank can kil you all, a chopper can, even a buggy can run you all over at the same time.
People also have to remember this is MODERN combat, there are better technology than 1942, not everyone want to turn BF2 into BF1942 with modern models, just as you have AUTOMATIC rifles, C4s, and all those little modern equipment in kits and land vehciles, airpower will also have those technology, you just have to live with it like you live with that skilled person who killed you 10times in a roll with AK101.
