The grappling hook rocks because you can get onto the tops of buildings that don't normally have a ladder. Like in warlords in the palace where you have the 2 spawns. I stood on a balcony and tossed it up onto the roof and climbed up. Then I was nailing people that were on the walkway with grenades and stuff. I am sometimes disappointed though when the hook does not work properly and I climb all the way up, then fall to my death. That is not very fun. Overall I am pretty satisfied with this game and it's worth the 30 bucks. 30 bucks is chump change, no reason not to buy it.

Also, I noticed that some times Ill climb a rope faster than other times. Do some classes climb faster than others, ie lighter weapons and non armor guys compared to AT or support guys?? I know sometimes I fly up a rope then sometimes climb really slow...anyone know whats up with that??
In the level with the asylum, I opened the door (gate) to the asylum by pressing E. I guess it's pretty obvious where you can do it, the only two I've noticed in my 1 day of playing were the lift on the aircraft carrier and the asylum gate, but they both had an obvious switch to let you know "HEY! YOU CAN PRESS E HERE AND SOMETHING WILL HAPPEN!"

Reminds me of the grappling hook mod for the original Quake back in the day
Those WERE the days. Quake was the first game with public mods that I can remember and they were soooo sweet back then. I remember one mod that some guy did where you could hear foot steps of the other guys as they snuck up on you in an online game. Nowadays we take so much for granted. I remember when things like server browsers were non existent, and the ability to have 4 players in one game of Doom on a network was the pinnacle of PC gamming. I was sure it couldn't get any better than that........ KALI '95 ring a bell for anyone?

Yours looks goofy. Get a better graphics card.

Grappling hook is so sweet. Best thing to happen to BF2.

Wow, I wasn't expecting this thread to go this long... I was basically pointing out a flaw because that's what I do...

I have a 7800 gt and have noticed, since playing more, that it doesn't do it all the time but every once in awhile it will.

While it is cool having some new unlocks for bf2, I am just glad I didn't spend money on SF. Can't wait for the real mods to get rolling!

It's sad that you people act like there's not a problem with errors in a game. I enjoy the game but there's no doubt about it that there are errors in it that you can't just say "shut up and play". As a consumer who bought BF2 and was unhappy about the resulting quality, I have every right to complain about what should have been obvious fixes in the game. If you bought a vehicle with a design flaw that would cause it to start fire, would you just sit on it and hope that the company came out with a fix for it soon or would you do something about it? There are people in this world who care and those that don't, I like to be one that cares and does something to make a difference. A group of monkeys could have tested this game and done a better job at finding errors then this team did.
I am a details person and enjoy playing a game with small to no errors and at full settings that make it virtually appeasing. Sorry I am not like some of you who choose to play with the lowest settings just to get a high fps. And don't say good luck finding a game with little to no errors because they exist all around you.

That was a pretty bad analogy and you contradicted yourself. If you didn't buy the game ( "I am just glad I didn't spend money on SF.") then by your own standards, you can't complain about it.

Me? I can look past minor things such as these. I'm having too much fun. Whether you call that a compromise or whatever. The point is, I'm having fun and that's all that matters.

Just because I said "I am just glad I didn't spend money on SF" doesn't mean that I didn't purchased it in someway or another.

grappling hook and zipline ROCK. I was on ghost town and it was sooo fun. Our squad kept going places together, utilizing ziplines, grapling hooks, covering each other while we went up.

                      Sf rocks.

                          That analogy is horrible.

I'd like to know all these error free games that are all around me.

Um...yea. A faulty expansion pack doesen't kill people.
And I likes it the way it is.

if you throw the grappling hook up a tall wall it will straighten up and take the slack out of the rope, just like in real life
