    Re: Red Orchestra: Ostfront 41-45

hahahaha as i said - its got nothing on up coming mods for BF2... and lets not forget - essentially - this is a mod of an OLD engine.

just so you know - i am a modeller & texture artist for DCON and i have nearly finished the applicant process with FH2... that is, i work with a NEW engine

i do have a clue what i am talking about but i believe in people having the right to point out things they justly dislike in a game without fanboys jumping to its defense... that is "ignorant and idiotic" in my book

The graphics aren't the best, they are not the worst either. I think it is best just to leave it at that.

I find the that the immersion due to other things like sound and the realism are really what the dev' team were focussing on. The mod' was even less pretty, but the gameplay has it's very distinct style which is the selling point.

Anyway, we all know they'll be a UE3 version, so it's pretty certain that that version will please the eyes :)

Wasn't it supposed to come out in stores today? I checked Walmart and Best Buy websites and it's not there yet =/ might give them a call.

hahaha you can axe the eyeroll there mister fanboy i dont think this game will really pick up until it is released on UE3. When it does, oh boy will there be a calamity! for the moment however it will amply live off the ferver of people like my young friend here for quite awhile (at least, that is, until FH2 comes out :p ).

you can guaruntee i will pay for it again then :)

Wait, so this game is going to be released twice on two different engines? Or a patch will update it?

Overall I think this is a great game, besides the graphics are pretty decent in my opinion. It seems a little slow paced compared to BF2 but atleast its more realistic. As for this game being on the new Unreal engine, I never heard anything about that. Anyway heres a screenshot I took:

Haha, I knew you'd comment to that :)

Now when the game is in stores it's going to be interested to track the game on gamespy and see how many actually knows about the game. I do hope it's going to outclass dod:s, whatcha think?

In regards to FH2 I doubt I'll have time checking it out. I certainly wont check it out if you're supposed to do something with it and then spend all your time here:p

                    back to work boy!

Basically Tripwire won the Make Something Unreal Contest, which you may of known, and in so doing they won a license to Unreal Engine 2.5 and Unreal Engine 3.

ROOST is on UE2.5, and it was mentioned by the dev's that they were going to do sort-of a sequel on UE3. Of course, they're not obligated to do that, I guess they could make any game they want on the Unreal 3 engine.

Exactly, they do in fact have a UE3 licence so they will build another game(woohoo). If roost is popular I guess they'll do another one, if not well then they do something else since they wont just 'waste' the licence.

Roost is ****ing awsome. IMO its way better than BF2 in most ways. Gameplay is slower, i like that though, guns sound awsome, infact, every sound is awsome, especially the artillery. No moon gravity, intense gameplay every game.

Graphics on my system are no worse than BF2, though on high setting BF2 would be better (i run on low on both :P) but i play for the gameplay, not eyecandy, and for that ROost wins hands down. Thats just my opinion, everyone else has there own :P

I've never played any mod so far and as of now I'll stick to rooost thank you very much. (by the way, u busted a nerve or something?you seem to be in a moching mood and touchy...)

if pprm will become bigger in scandinavia i might try that though... realism has really impressed me lately and to be honest I havent played vanilla bf2 or sf for hmmm more than a week....
