I will not buy the SF expansion. This is characteristic of EA. They rush an overpriced product that is buggy, poorly tested, and a total lack of customer support. Patches take weeks, even months to release, and that does not guarantee a real fix. And here's a little tip about patches:

If a company has to patch a game within 3 months of a release, that means that you paid too much for an incomplete product.

For those of you who are "bored with BF2 already", I suggest you try or wait for some mods. If vanilla BF2 is too boring for you, try the PRMM (Project Reality Mini-Mod). It's more challenging and truly rewards the skilled players.

As for me, I'm going to use the off time in the holidays to work on my HL2 mod. :)

eh, I didnt like PRMM that much. I just dropped BF2 all together. Just gotta wait for UT2k7 :)

Oh ya, I figured I would add this in aswell. For BF2 I will be sticking with it. I payed money for the game and can't take it back so I might aswell keep it. I'm planning on staying here for the long run and I'm hoping to help develope the bf2 community further. It would be nice to see a public python script that reports BF2 server logs to a text file though :p My first contribution is going to be a server managing bot that lets you kick players from ingame. It will also have a more realistic poll system and a system where admins and moderators are recognized ingame without clan tags.

Anyway I just thought I would add that.

DICE would never release a patch that's for an expansion pack alone. I figure that anyone who says this must be new to the BF universe.

Will what ive heard is that a patch for vanilla BF2 will be in SF but also availbe for download outside of SF, though SF probably will be a lot quicker in the downloading of the patch

Probably. It might be worth getting just to get new maps even then. We never seem to have enough maps.

I will not buy that expansion pack until it proves to be very intertaining and successful among the community. my feeling is that this wont be a good expansion.
