Re: "no, leave me and save yourself"

When I play medic... or played medic as I have strayed from the class in desires of doing other things. I didnt revive unless the person called for a medic.

Did we loose tickets because I didnt revive him... Yep
Could I have revived a number of people without them requesting a medic... Yep

I wasnt looking for points... and bottom line before you blame me for a tactic you see as bad... the dead guy could have clicked the mouse and called for me.. and I would have revived them. so the loss of tickets was on him... not me.

Okay, seems the issue here has evolved to whether or not medics should always be able to revive you. This seems to have an obvious answer that everyone is missing. Yes; medics should always be able to revive you.

However, I think the original idea of this post is a good one. There should be an option to tell the medic to write you off as a gonner. Currently one exists via VoIP; but until that feature becomes widespread I think the idea of the alternate click response should be implemented.

Hopefully, medics will be able to tell when would be a good situation to revive someone and when would not (i.e. reviving a fallen comrade in an alleyway vs. reviving someone in front of a tank). However, there are certain times when that distinction wouldn't be obvious, and these are the times when having that option to pass up revival would be nice (i.e. when trying to change kits or knowing that an enemy is watching you in order to peg the medic when he revives you).

Yes, there will be those medics who ignore your wishes and revive you anyway. But how is that any different than the current situation wherein a medic can, despite your calls, choose to ignore you and NOT revive you? It really is just the same thing.

Medics save lives. That's their purpose and that's what they do. I agree that medics need to use common (unselfish) sense when making a decision as to revive someone. But it should be noted that the medic wouldn't revive you if you hadn't died. There are other alternatives to dying in order to change kits. Such as finding one on the battlefield; or calling in someone who DOES have the needed kit. Despite this, I am not so naive as to believe that there is ALWAYS the right kit around when you need it and there is ALWAYS someone convienently located near by with just the right tool for the job. Sometimes death really is the only viable solution...after all other alternatives have been exhausted.

It doesn't matter how ready you are to sprint away. If you get revived in front of a tank, it will kill you again. Sometimes you die and there is very little you could do about it. I've seen medics completely ignore the enemies around them so they can get a revive point. Most of the time they get the point, then they get killed along with the person that was revived, then they lose 2 tickets instead of 1, sometimes a flag. Get some revives but don't be stupid about it, think of the situation.

I often run out into the War to revive a person just cause thats what real medics do. They run and help fallen men no matter what. That why I want the option to say go away, so i can let the man die in peace.

Something like the title, or "go on without me". simple yet effective

It's not the medic's fault, he doesn't know that I'd like to stay dead but sometimes reviving someone is the worst thing you can do. How hard would it be to add that kind of thing into the next patch?

            Dice, you reading this?
Yup, this has happend to me more than once and I've been plenty ****ed when it happens too. I figure it's not worth getting all bent outta shape about it. I try to get to cover and soldier on. If there is a tank around it's probably going to get the medic too, so it's no big deal. Having died the first time, I've already picked a spawn point and possibly a new weapon. I'm ready for rebirth.

Re: "no, leave me and save yourself"

I have been playing medic for most of my last few games, I love the class and If I can avoid it I will not revive someone with the enemy nearby, but most of the time in the heat of a battle That revive could give you the winning tickets.

I never play for points I always play for the team, and my task as medic is to keep my team healed and alive and i have seen many a game won by medic revives not by team kills just because the medics on you're team kept you alive longer then there medics did.

How on earth can a medic tell that you want to spawn with a different kit or have run out of ammo sheesh.

OK medics unite NO MORE REVIVES whatever the situation let them die....

Now lets see how many more complaints we get if all medics did follow that advice above, I dare bet a lot more then people wanting to be left dead. :)

Exactly my point man! They can't tell, so they do their job and revive. But this would be a way to let them know... right?

I totaly agree it would be a good thing to have or why not just the right button that causes your body to fade the moment you press it so you wouldn't be able to be revived anyway, still would take the 15 secs to respawn and only work when you die.
