Only the default (TGN Light) theme for now. Dark them is also coming back soon. Then CSN. Then Wrestlin' Nation. A lot of WIP stuff right now. There are a couple of things still not working either. Sorry.
To which I would respond: A CLIMB function would make more sense, either automatic or otherwise, whereupon a player could scramble over the aforementioned barrier if he were adjacent to it, but a player in open space couldn't hoike his legs up beneath his arse and bounce about with gay abandon.
so jumping over a small barrier it stupid, but stopping to climb over it isn't?
LOL, the last game I played that you couldn't jump is Doom 2. I don't want to go back to that.
You can definetly jump in Doom II. There's also a retarded version of mouselook that's (contrary to popular beleif) supported by the engine, but it's so retarded that you're better off not using it.
Keep jumping, but make it so your accuracy is horrible and when you land ur accuracy degrades for a fraction of a section. Also make it so if you "dive" you can't recover from the dive until you land. That way you can't go prone 10 times in a single jump.
So you're telling me, IRL, when you approach a table you want to get on top of, you do a two footed hop and bounce on up top of it?
Erm... no.
But remember, this is a modern combat game, i didnt buy it cos reviews stated 'Feckin hell, you can climb on tables in this one guys!' it wasnt a feature that sold the game
Im becoming aware that TotalBF2 has quite a few posters here, and as a result, a proportion of them may be considered medically retarded. Fair enough, thats statistics for you.
Stamina should definitly be affected by jumping, only so many times you could jump with the kit, if your ability to run is restricted, so should your ability to jump be.
Soccaplaya all you need is the new 7800gtx and you have yourself a system
lol wish i could but my damn dell mobo doesnt support PCI-E
But the 6600gt is holding out pretty well for me it playes most games fine on high, BF2 on med./high i can play full 64 player servers with about 30+ FPS with lots of action, and FEAR i can have about 40+ FPS all on high. :)
maybe when they make it in AGP I'll get it.
Jumping should be there because it is realistic yet bunnyhopping is not.
There is a simple solution;
Jumping is tied to your sprint bar. A full sprint bar allows you 3 jumps, we all know that bunny hoppers love to sprint so problem solved and yet realism maintained.
Fully rested and get suprised, you get 3 wonderful bullet dodging hops [only] to reload, etc.. half way gone, you get 1 hop, little or no sprint left and whalla - no jumping what so ever, just like real life.
Especially if their based on realistic human action.
However, the current BF2 jump height is beyond ridiculous to witness and personally would like the jumping heoght be reduced significantly, with more effect on stamina.
Seeing guys jumping up and down (loads of them, in packs) lobbing 203s/GP30s down at you is beyond stupid, it's lame and a very low class exploit in the game.

I fear that you are being deliberatly obtuse. The 'Climb' function would be object dependent.
Example 1: Trying to get over a low barrier? The animation is a scramble.
Example 2: Trying to leap between buildings on Sharqi Peninsula? The animation is like a long jump.
Example 3: Pressing it wildly in open space? Nothing happens, if you want to avoid fire, zig-zag or hit the deck.
I think there should be a stamina bar for jumping. I mean jumping is fine (although im not really sure how much people jump around in real life - especially in a gun fight with a massive backpack, armour, boots and a gun), but this is a game. Its cool to see people dive over walls and stuff.
We're playing BF2 - not quake, right?
PS...a climbfunction would be very good, i agree. I dont see why you can't scale walls or cliff faces or trees. What would be very cool would be being able to boost teammates over walls.
with 100 lbs of gear on your back.. you can't jump. I'll say it again YOU CAN'T JUMP!
Even with nothing on your back most people can only jump 2-3 ft high. These guys are jumping like 6 feet with 100 lbs on them...it's a game, deal with it.
The climb function would probably be better, but then who would get the bunny hop ribbon?
We can jump 'cause is an arcade-style game. If you want realism go play Rainbow Six or something where 1 shot kills you.
We can also jump 'cause its been part of this franchise, bf42, dc, etc....
Sure, trying to hit someone with an APC while they hop across a street can be frustrating, but talking about taking it out of the game just doenst make sense

Obviously, it is not realistic to expect jumping to be removed from this game, it would be too disruptive and too much coding effort.
What I would like to see is jumping removed from the pseudo-realistic military FPS genre, it is a cheap solution to an over-rated problem. Operation Flashpoint didn't need jumping, and neither does the Battlefield franchise. I look forward to its removal in BF3.
