You must play against absolute n00bs then, anyone with a decent rifle or shotgun would make mincement of a bunnyhopping sniper trying to shoot at someone unscoped.

Well, that says something about the skill of most people on public servers.

I don't know, I've been lucky and killed a couple people creeping up on me with an unscoped sniper but taping something to your screen just seems over the top. Wouldn't that just distract you when you ARE scoped anyways?

yeah its good for putting a crosshair when there isn't one. In bf2 however it isn't possible to hit anything unzoomed with a sniper rifle with only the help of a dot on your screen. I find it fascinating that you dont even know this?

in response it is quite possible to kill someone, most of it by luck but i have done it twice in karkland the shed, there were three people in it. out of reflex i clicked and shot and woe and behold i got a kill :)

If the accuracy unscoped really is that bad, I have no idea how I manage to win about 70% of all CQC fights against other infantry (using the sniper rifle)...:)
Just aim for the head and shoot, it's as simple as that.

Yeah of course you do that, apart from the fact your stats show you can't even manage a positive kill to death ratio with the sniper rifle.
And anyone who snipes knows it is **** easy to get a positive kill to death ratio.

Well, you try getting a positive kill-death ratio after getting something like a 0.15 kill-death ratio with it during the first 2 weeks after the release of BF2 :p (yes, I know I really sucked back then)
Good luck, you'll need it.

Now I usually get kill-death ratios of something like 4:1 with the sniper rifle, a lot of deaths coming from choppers, armor, etc.

Pigs cant fly and when they do, and only then, will a dot on your screen be a good indication of where your unzoomed shot (w some sniper rifle) will hit.

As Antlion says, the deviation of the un-scoped sniper rifle is huge. You should be doing this for the anti tank's sniper rocket, rather than the sniper rifle!

Yep the laser dot for anti tank is great help, quite a few people have wondered how i can jump unzoomed and rocket nad them.....

I get far more kills with the ERYX than MP5!!!!

Maybe it helps him because if he spots an enemy he can put the dot on him before he zooms in so he doesn't have to search for him in the scope.

True the Zoomed out view is inaccurate, but having a "dot" on your screen can help you zero the target faster...

You dont have to find your taget again afte having zoomed...

Still.... kind of cheating

you guys are crazy. why would u even think of stuff like that. a laser pointer at your monitor. i have a feeling the "warning: exposed radiation" could do wonders for that lcd monitor!

Try shooting a real gun.
