1.I don't find that to be a valid point because it's simply un-true. Lots of people just don't care about their death to kill ratios as long as they get points.
Quote:
I guess I way overestimated your intelligence and integrity.

2. Thinly veiled insults don't help your case.
Quote:
Cheap implies it is has no cost (applying yourself, practice, concentration, and, umm...life). But unlike close range M203ing 1) you die 2) it forces you to observe the enemy and see how many people are in the black hawk 3) there's a risk of ramming a black hawk with one person or one in which someone has already bailed out (which is quite common) as they can fly around for quite a while after the pilot leaves. It's far different from medic stat padding and you know it, the knife/revive is considered stat padding because it doesn't help the team.

3. No, cheap implies that it takes little to no skill to do it, but the reward is high.
Quote:
Yeah, you waste resources, but pay for those resources with your life. And you can kill up to 6 enemies. If you're saying it's a waste of resources to get in a jet when you don't have the skill to fly then that's a different discussion.

4. Your life is meaningless. Stop trying to use that as an argument.
More to the point, you have to think about the cost/benifet to your team if you want to be a good player. There is someone on the team that will be able to bingo a BH without ramming. He should be flying it, not someone who thinks that ramming is the cool thing to do.
Quote:
Flying the jet through the tunnel in Kubra Dam is a lot harder than most things which can get you points, are people who don't spend the whole game doing that cheap?
5. What a stupid thing to say. Making rediculous comments undermines your side of the argument.

It's time to face facts.
Ramming is lame.
So is noobtoobing.
Nothing is going to stop this sort of thing, but when people complain about it I don't see how you can argue with 'em.
Er... rather I don't see how you can argue well with 'em. So far, you've displayed that you can argue the point poorly.
Well, after recieving your PM I thought your response after the one in which you called my comment idiocy would be a lot better. Sadly I was wrong.

1. Do you have any facts to back up that it's not true? About 80% of the people I see with low kill/death ratios are n00bs (sub-100 hours of global play). Besides, I see a lot more threads asking "What is your kill/death ratio" than "what is your score".

2. Idiocy is not an insult trying to help your case, especially when you ignore my explaination afterwards?

3. Here's the dictionary.com definition:
1.
Relatively low in cost; inexpensive or comparatively inexpensive.
2. Charging low prices: a cheap restaurant.
Obtainable at a low rate of interest. Used especially of money.
3. Devalued, as in buying power: cheap dollars.
4. Achieved with little effort: a cheap victory; cheap laughs.
5. Of or considered of small value: in wartime, when life was cheap.
6. Of poor quality; inferior: a cheap toy.
7. Worthy of no respect; vulgar or contemptible: a cheap gangster.
8. Stingy; miserly
Achieved with effort, yes, but certaintly not relativley low in cost. There really aren't many means of killing in this game that REQUIRE you to sacrifice your own life.

4. Again, do you have anything but baseless assumption to say people don't value their lives? And yes you shouldn't be in the air if your not a skilled jet pilot because, yes, it is a waste of resources, but as I said, that's a different discussion. In this argument we need to assume the jet pilot is good enough to have the right to take the jet.

5. After recieving your PM I thought maybe I could still have respect for you, but clearly I was wrong. You just went and did the same old "swatting". You say I insult to hide the fact that I have no argument, but then you insult me and don't even touch the points which I make. Of course it's stupid. I'm using your "logic". It's going to be incredibly stupid if I use your "logic". You can't debunk anything that I say and you were caught on your own idiocy and fad-based "logic" so you throw out an attack like a badly timed smoke bomb.

And about the fun factor? Getting owned badly enough is never fun. Should servers kick anyone with a 5:1 kill death ratio or better.

Stop botherin me kid.

As red faced as you want to get about this, it's not going to change the fact that any shaved monkey can ram (it takes no skill), that it's annoying and disruptive (no fun), that it's a crappy tactical move (someone with some tallent could be flyin that bird), and that there will always be some noob-tard thinking it's a good idead (and people will call 'em things like noob-tard).

Yes, servers should kick anyone that had a 5:1 kill ratio. Definatly. Didn't I say that?

Wait, no I didn't.
You're pulling more idiotic statments out of your stinkyplace and waving 'em around like trophies.

That's right, post in MY thread, call me stupid, then expect me to just leave you alone because "u r teh 1337 dedatzor". So 1337 appearantly that he can't defend himself with anything short of dogmas and personal attacks. Then glorify the fact that you can't even out debate a kid.

It just shows you are incapable of a two step thought process or an understanding of your own logic (most likley because you are just relaying what your friends tell you to say). Thank god they took analogies off the SATs or you'd have no chance getting into college.

Stop it, both of you. Flame wars makes both of you look idiot. And thats a fact. If the thing you ram, has more than one player inside, its effective tactic. If it only has one, its stupid.

Re: So ramming is cheap, but not...

Agreed.
Still, I'll respect players that use aircraft to shoot things down and disrespect people who constantly ram. It's my personal take on the issue and I'm free to have it.
[quick aside: While playing last night, I was on a loaded BH when an enemy plane came out of no-where and smacked into us. I felt a wave of grouch coming on. Then the pilot started perfusly appologizing over the gobal chat. He was completely embarassed to have done "such a cheap thing". His words. I forgave him]

Anyway, time ta zip it up and walk away.
This peeing contest is over.

Oh and Ruhanga, I hope I cleared up the mis-understanding about the vocabulary comment. Was never intended as a bash. It was a play on the words you used and I felt it was a valid point. Yes, the game only knows win vs lose, but us human beings are capable of being embaressed of our actions... even when they give you a 5:1 kill/death score.

Not intentionally, DP.
I've got strong oppinions and a lot of extra time on myhands (that I can't use to play). I'm an honest sort and prefer to make my arguments/comments without subterfuge. I also don't take things over-seriously and think that a good chuckle is worth a thousand complaints.

If I offend un-intentionally, I'll set out and make ammends.
If I offend intentionally, it's because I judge someone to needing a dose of offending.

Atleast stirred **** is more interesting than stagnant ****!

Okay, how about this, ramming blackhawks with those cheap MEC or Chinese choppers? I mean the guns on those things cant kill anything while you're moving, while the blackhawk is still a lawnmower. I have to admit that I've been ****ed off by a few BH squads and I decided to ram them. Any thoughts?

not scum, just talentless. A skilled pilot would remember his plane has missiles & cannon, I dont know why ppl bitch about missiles so much - they do work. I've shot down every type of aircraft with missiles, and I'm a crap player. Granted missiles wont take down everything every time, but thats where the skill lies. You approach a target & estimate that at this distance & angle that missiles probably wont work, so you execute a few turns & position yourself for a better attack on the target (OK the maps are small so this can be tricky), but if its a helo it cant outrun a jet. Get the correct attack angle & its like shooting fish in a barrel.

It is a fact that ramming is a valid and justified tactic.
• It sacrifices one life (point) for a potentially larger sum of points on the other team. This is an obvious gain.
• It stops a potentially moderate force from having the opportunity to overwhelm your teammates with a reign of bullets. Yet again, an obvious gain.
• It temporarily removes the concentration of individuals that are unable to cope with someone finding an effectic tactic against their own dastardly plan. They get upset and make irrational decisions. There is a psychological but less obvious gain.

What makes it so annoying is that it's easy to perform, there's no denying that. A big juicy black bird filled with free frags, yummy! Yes, well. If you find an easy way to dispose of your opponent, why not take it?

Want the kamikaze to give them a fair chance? Well then, I have news for you. This is not a RPG. You may be given an avatar that is something else than what you are in real life, but it doesn't require that you behave accordingly. This is a competition, and people will do whatever is possible to be able to rub your nose into the ground. They want their points. Call them lame, noobs, rookies or smacktards. They'll just laugh you right in the face.

There is another fun fact about this. The developers of this game allows for mid-air collisions and... strap yourself in tight now... assigns points to the attacker. Dice actually thought this over and decided to implement it into the game.

NB: Don't forget that real life soldiers applied this tactic during WWII. I don't see anyone calling them any of the derogatory terms above.
Your definately convincing.

I see nothing wrong with ramming. It worked for the japanese why not me?

I can't fly the planes for ****. Hell I have spent less than 1 hour total in them I'd say. I don't even know the keys to switch guns etc LOL.

Only time I get in a plane is if no one else is and I want a quick ride to where the action is. The other time is to ram blackhawk whores usually I will do this with another transport chopper than as it's more fun.

Sometimes it is the only way when you have a team of noobs ... so get over it.

1. The Japanese lost World War II.
2. Unless you intend to learn what it's real purpose is, leave them for other players.

3. I'm not even going to comment on that one.
4. The only way? Theres more than one way to achieve victory aside from ramming an aircraft into another. Use an AA or learn to fly, other than that, leave the air alone.
