Re: So ramming is cheap, but not...

I love ramming, works every time. I'm not doing it on purpose, but instead of letting a full Blackhawk own a bunch of my team mates, I'd rather just plow my ride into their Blackhawk whoring arses and get 10 points. :P

And with this statment you prove yourself to not be worth talking to.
Try putting up some actual arguments or even better, LISTENING to what we're TELLING you.

Resorting to name calling just proves that you can't hold a desent discussion.

Re: So ramming is cheap, but not...

I'll try to step on as little toes as possible, but I feel some things needs to be clarified.

It is a fact that ramming is a valid and justified tactic.
        • It sacrifices one life (point) for a potentially larger sum of points on the other team. This is an obvious gain.
        • It stops a potentially moderate force from having the opportunity to overwhelm your teammates with a reign of bullets. Yet again, an obvious gain.
        • It temporarily removes the concentration of individuals that are unable to cope with someone finding an effectic tactic against their own dastardly plan. They get upset and make irrational decisions. There is a psychological but less obvious gain.

What makes it so annoying is that it's easy to perform, there's no denying that. A big juicy black bird filled with free frags, yummy! Yes, well. If you find an easy way to dispose of your opponent, why not take it?

Want the kamikaze to give them a fair chance? Well then, I have news for you. This is not a RPG. You may be given an avatar that is something else than what you are in real life, but it doesn't require that you behave accordingly. This is a competition, and people will do whatever is possible to be able to rub your nose into the ground. They want their points. Call them lame, noobs, rookies or smacktards. They'll just laugh you right in the face.

There is another fun fact about this. The developers of this game allows for mid-air collisions and... strap yourself in tight now... assigns points to the attacker. Dice actually thought this over and decided to implement it into the game.

NB: Don't forget that real life soldiers applied this tactic during WWII. I don't see anyone calling them any of the derogatory terms above.

I know, but I had to bite back on saying something simular abut your same comment.
It was an idiotic thing to say.
You aren't responding to any of the valid comments that people are giving you. Ramming takes no skill, it isn't fun, and it's a waste of resources.

To be truthful, I've made more than a few rams. Usually it's pure "oops", but I have pulled a couple intentional rams while flying that POS MEC transport. I feel totally cheap doing it, but sometimes when your back is up against the wall, ya gotta go fer the cheap hits.

What drives me nuts is the people that ONLY ram BHs while in planes because they know that it will give 'em easy points. It's no better than medic stats padders.

I'm sorry I was diplomatic with you, you obviously didn't deserve it. You've totally ignored MY comment about life being as valued as kills and then accuse me of not responding to valid comments. I guess I way overestimated your intelligence and integrity. Cheap implies it is has no cost (applying yourself, practice, concentration, and, umm...life). But unlike close range M203ing 1) you die 2) it forces you to observe the enemy and see how many people are in the black hawk 3) there's a risk of ramming a black hawk with one person or one in which someone has already bailed out (which is quite common) as they can fly around for quite a while after the pilot leaves. It's far different from medic stat padding and you know it, the knife/revive is considered stat padding because it doesn't help the team.

Yeah, you waste resources, but pay for those resources with your life. And you can kill up to 6 enemies. If you're saying it's a waste of resources to get in a jet when you don't have the skill to fly then that's a different discussion.

Flying the jet through the tunnel in Kubra Dam is a lot harder than most things which can get you points, are people who don't spend the whole game doing that cheap?

Don't blame the rammers when AA missile simply doesn't work against transports (out of 200 or so missiles I launched to a blackhawk, only about 2 hit)

I don't find that to be a valid point because it's simply un-true. Lots of people just don't care about their death to kill ratios as long as they get points.
I guess I way overestimated your intelligence and integrity.
Thinly veiled insults don't help your case.

No, cheap implies that it takes little to no skill to do it, but the reward is high.

Your life is meaningless. Stop trying to use that as an argument.
More to the point, you have to think about the cost/benifet to your team if you want to be a good player. There is someone on the team that will be able to bingo a BH without ramming. He should be flying it, not someone who thinks that ramming is the cool thing to do.
Flying the jet through the tunnel in Kubra Dam is a lot harder than most things which can get you points, are people who don't spend the whole game doing that cheap?
What a stupid thing to say. Making rediculous comments undermines your side of the argument.

                  It's time to face facts.
                  Ramming is lame.
                  So is noobtoobing.
Nothing is going to stop this sort of thing, but when people complain about it I don't see how you can argue with 'em.
Er... rather I don't see how you can argue well with 'em. So far, you've displayed that you can argue the point poorly.
                  :p

as long as there is no way that you can take out a blackhawk in one pass (missiles are useless), i will ram if situation requires.

The only time I would condone ramming would be if the plane was on fire and no chance of being repaired... the pilot see's a helicopter, why not ram it?

Re: So ramming is cheap, but not...

People only ram because they cant shoot it down normally
With a bit practice you can gun down a blackhawk in 1 pass, and if you miss you can finish it off on the second.
Shoot the cockpit, 1 shot there = 10shot on other parts. Missiles are useless.

You dont really need to kill it completely, set it on flames when its above the ocean, see if the people inside want to jump and swim back to base.

                          Hrm...
Well aside from the fact that even *I* (a self confessed BAD pilot) can take down those bird in one pass, this is where skill comes in.
Say you don't take it down in a single pass... now you can loop around 'n take (shock, gasp, awe) another pass!

Now, I'm not gonna pretend that anything is ever going to stop people from ramming, but I will state that it's nothing to be proud of.

It is NOT a helpful thing to do for your team.
It does NOT take any skill.
It is annoying to the other team on about the same level as spawn camping.
I will continue to disrespect players that think it's a good thing to do the same way I disrespect Noobtoobers.

very true, i have heard your arguments wargimp and there very valid and this guy cant come back with a decent argument, please if your going to start an argument have some backup knowledge and evidence to support your claims. And i have never seen people purposely ramming, its by accident, and most pilots nowdays are the l33t pilots so they know not to ram.

If you suck so bad that you have to ram to get 10 points or whatever and can't get that just doing strafes over bases you suck and don't deserve the jet. 90% of the time someone is waiting for the jet to spawn and on some maps it spawns before you can get back so why take 10 pts and lose your jet when you can get 100 pts and few deaths just owning in the jet. The only time I even bother with helicopters is if they are base camping or raping our team then i will remove them promptly and let them know if they continue all my missles will be locked on them.

Yesturday a commander on my team took the jet after round started, decided to fly to some remote flag, appparently forgot his chute and died...
