Re: Veteran's Day - Thank you

Just want to say thanks to my Great Great Grandad - Fought in the Great War and died 90 years ago, in 1915. We don't know where and when he died, but he died serving his country, 90 years ago. So today was quite emotional for me.
I have his Death Plaque - "He died for freedom, and honour."

Also to my Great Grandad, fought in the african desert in World War 2. Also to my Grandad, who fought in the Pacific and Burma.
Its amazing how much i think about them when i'm playing games - for example Call of Duty2 depicts the fight in Africa, and I know (as much anyone can from a game) what it was like, fighting there. Also for Medal of Honour Pacific Assualt and co., for Burma.

Also, I think it is apt to also give respects to the German and Austrian troops who fought in the Great War and even in World War2 - They fought valiantly, and should be respected. I know there are forumers who are German or Austrian on this forum, they should not feel ashamed in telling us of their fight.

Also my respects go out to all men and women who have fought for what they believe in, and are still fighting in Iraq and all around the world.

Thanks to my Grandpa for serving in the Navy during WWII (still has his tatoo). Thanks to my buddies in the Air Force (Derek, Jason, and Jeff, though I know you guys don't read websites like this). Thanks to Steve in the Army. Thanks to Joe and Francisco for serving in the Marines.

My immediate family doesn't serve in the armed forces, nor do we plan to. However, from the side of civilian contribution, at least I could serve by being a defense industry engineer and my brother could inevitably work for some chemical manufacturer (CS gas anyone? :)).

            Thanks again.

As I am pre-getting ready for my 3rd tour to Iraq this comming summer it makes things a little easier to see support for me and my fellow comrades and too know there are still those few out there that support us vets and salute us for what we do. I salute you all and stand tall and ready.

You're all quite welcome. It was a pleasure (most of the time, anyway ) to serve 20 years in defense of this great nation!

My heartfelt thanks and appreciation go out to all those who have served, or are currently serving in defense of their country.

My thoughts and prayers go out to all those who've made the ultimate sacrifice on our behalf.

P.S. The Night Stalker logo in my sig links to my old unit's unofficial web site. It does a very good job of honoring our fallen comrades and contains some pretty moving poems, journals, etc.
