I don't know how you guys do it. I've got a better system, yet I can't get anywhere above low settings if I don't want vid card lag.

P4 2.8 (oc'd 3.1ghz)
2gig PC 2700 (2.5 6 2 2 2)
60gig HD (10gig partition for BF2 only)
Nvidia 6800 128mb (350core 725mem) I think
Audigy 2

I've got video set to low, Dynamic shadows and light are off. AA is off and my resolution is 1280 X 1024 @60hz
I've got my sound settings pretty high; Creative X-hi ; EAX enabled; VOIP enabled; High.

I'm the type of player that strives for playablility more than looks. But I'd love to get better graphics without sacrificing playability. I've tried all the tweaks too, but it doesn't do it for me.

Only bottleneck in my system I can think of is that my CPU is not hyperthread. Anyone think that would make a big difference?

Turn off EAX seeing how you don't have an X-Fi card. Also, I think it is your video card holding you down.
