Dude, nothing is showing up. The webpage loads, the scroll bar is moving, but the screen is black. What video format are you uploading? (I'm at work. Shhhhhhhhhh)

Shows in Firefox and IE for me - using Windows Media Player - AVI files.

Tried it on 3 different computers - no problems.

Anyone else have trouble with them?

well...sounds like when airstrips get destroyed...(carrier) US will lose a spawn point and im sure a big explosion will followed with tons of lag and my computer going "i dont like rendering big explosions, i think im gonna shut myself down.."

Hey, lots of good stuff here.

First off, some maps have non-capturable bases, usually an airbase of a sort. This would work fine if playtesting showed that the 'guard duty' angle would turned off too many players, it is a game afterall and people should be playing it to have fun - not get frustrated over it (welcome to my world!). That way, you can go out, do your damage, die and then head back to base/respawn at main base camp and repair away if needed.

For runways, why not give them a total of 3 parts. Since destroying a landing strip by land should take some concerted effort you can play with the idea that Captainpuffy had:

... especially if the more the runway was damaged, the less it would repair. If it was completly destroyed then you could not repair at all. Even better would be that if the runway was completly destroyed a Jet/Heli will not spawn until it was repaired.
1/3 destroyed, limit repair/rearm to 2/3s full, 2/3's destroyed - 1/3. All three destroyed, no landing, no repair, no rearm, no respawn. Tough, but if you turn it into a noncapturable spawnpoint, then it would be less likely to be abused... maybe!

I too like the 'circle becomes complete' and rock/paper/SCISSORS idea. Since the maps are relatively small for such aircraft to be included, soldiers should have a means of countering them.

youve got a good point there. If only it were true! Doing st to actually slow the aerial assault down would add an extra strategic element to play. Guess all we have is spec ops/AT for now. I suggest you make a nuisance of yourself and and keep c4ing the enemy planes for now. It'll hack off the enemy too, but its great fun and helps the team greatly - esp on Wake.

I spend nearly a whole round today on Clean Sweep keeping the enemy assets out of circulation. Not big points and we still lost (our side couldnt fight for toffee!!!), but I felt I did my bit well!!! I wasn't spawn camping, though, so defend points too! But lo and behold, as soon as they regained the comm centre (far flag) again they routed us!

                LOL

I like the idea of dividing the runway up into thirds....although I think that even if it is destroyed you should spawn there...but no planes will spawn (Unless thats what you meant) that way you can spawn there in engi and repair away....

About the point of trying to find people to guard the uncapables...I think this problem is already solves before it is potentially created. People wait around the plane spawn points for 5 minutes and longer, so there's your defending force...give them enough time and they will get bored enough to kill the enemies that are lurking around. Not to mention as soon as they figure out that if they let the enemy destroy the runway then they will not get their plane they will defend that air strip like a fat woman would defend her cake.

Threads like this are depressing yet satisfying to take part in. The community comes up with tons of really good ideas, but they'll never be implemented. Why is it so hard, and why does it take so long for patches to release? Can anyone give me reason for this?

Can two planes next to each other resupply the other guy? If so, how many resupple points for several hundred kilos of bombs:) ?

No, it's called backing down the runway the way you came.

Yes! I wasn't clear, but that is precisely what I meant. No planes/helis while pad/runway was disabled. Soldier/wheeled vehicle spawn only.

Honest to goodness observation there. Woe be the assualting SpecOps squad who keeps the plane spawners from their aircraft.

This is the reason why I'm looking to become buddies with a mod team. I may not be able to code my way out of a wet paper bag, but I have dozens of ideas.....too bad dice wouldn't just pay me to sit in a comfy chair and bark ideas at their developers.....

I personally want to see a CTF mod where the engineer can build mounted gun emplacements, dig trenches, lay razor wire, and put up sand bags.....that would bring "Digging in" and defending a flag to a whole new level.

Good idea of yet another game featere that should have been implemented, or atleast something similar.

I think that this is the wrong tree to bark at though if you want feedback from developers or whatnot.

                            Where's the 'tree' then?

I am sure something could be done for the Carrier side as well - not to where the US would get the boat sunk and lose the perma spawn - but that is an option as well - like it was in bf1942.

I am very interested to see what "objective" based stuff there is in BF2:SF. I keep hearing it is in there - but just not what it is.

                                AWESOME IDEA!

Make run ways and helipads destructible like bridges...brilliant!

And I'm a chopper lover (recently getting into jets) but I certainly wouldn't mind it they implemented something like this forcing me to find alternatives to repairing and rearming so easily every few minutes.

As it stands right now, the only way to achieve this effect currently in-game is to capture the base where the helipad and runways are...but there are SO many maps where these bases are uncappable.

                                I LOVE IT!
