Only the default (TGN Light) theme for now. Dark them is also coming back soon. Then CSN. Then Wrestlin' Nation. A lot of WIP stuff right now. There are a couple of things still not working either. Sorry.
But if you start doing that, the airbases would have to be completely rebuilt with added security. I mean, how many airbases are there that you can just drive up to and onto the airfield? They'd have to add npc gaurds in the multiplayer game because no one would stand around and do something as boring as gaurd duty....No....it's not a good idea at all...
Alright - got 2 videos - one landing on the carrier, and one landing over the hanger.
As much as you might not believe it - got them both on the first try.
Since I only have the demo of fraps - I could only do 30 second movies - but all was accomplished.
Now the trouble is where do I put them up for downloading? They are 288 and 322M - hard to believe for such small videos. They are too large for putfile.
That is because they are raw video right now (your computer cant capture and compress the video and play the game all at the same time )...you need to compress them I find VirtualDub to work fine...
This would be a great idea, especially if the more the runway was damaged, the less it would repair. If it was completly destroyed then you could not repair at all. Even better would be that if the runway was completly destroyed a Jet/Heli will not spawn until it was repaired.
Poster of this thread was rather meek and humble about his opinion when it was a really good abstract idea, heh. I really like this idea, and since 99.999999% of the bf2 community plays spec ops it gives them more to do and gives engineers more to repair like someone mentioned. No one wants guard duty, but if more vulnerable things are added to the main bases then anyone guarding might just see some action. Plus, it adds a nice and much needed rock paper scissors element missing from the jets. I like it, I like it.
Like everyone else here, I am in agreement. In the absense of landing (I'd be interested to see a poll on how many jet pilots have landed in BF2) something like a new commander asset at the runway would make sense. Eliminating the ability to flyover an enemy base and rearm would also be a good start.
No one wants guard duty, but if more vulnerable things are added to the main bases then anyone guarding might just see some action.
Exactly. Guarding bases, which 95% of players refuse to do, is sometimes the only mainstay to keeping your team in the fight against the zerging hordes.
Badger:
You'd be surprised how many pilots actually get a bit bored and try the landing bit. I first began doing landings in my Jane's USAF days. For some odd reason, I was hooked. Apparently the idea of a landing either making your day or turning you into a skidmark amidst the landing strip paint is rather alluring.
And as for SpecOps and Engies having more to do, I think it's a great idea. With a tangible threat against your jets, which I will admit are incredibly hard to defeat with gimped AA, defense of airbase assets will be critical in order to maintain air superiority. You would need defenses, an engineer to repair, and a support guy to refit. At least you wouldn't be alone.
Alrighty - got the rest of them. Screw the better quality - could not get below 25M for putfile regulations - so this is the best they will be. I don't want to mess with this any more - I have other stuff to do.
