Only the default (TGN Light) theme for now. Dark them is also coming back soon. Then CSN. Then Wrestlin' Nation. A lot of WIP stuff right now. There are a couple of things still not working either. Sorry.
if these ppl didnt care i cant help but wonder why they spend so much energy on trying to justify it to others.
its not lame by my logic to use sniper rifles or daos or tanks or anything like that. clearly you dont understand my position and possibly havent read my previous posts since i already specifically mentioned tanks.
So, then why is it lame to use the M203? ...and I did read your other post. But! From what I have put together your logic falls down the spectrum that I have listed. Prove me wrong big man... why is it so lame to use the M203?
you really dont know? you must not get to play much so i'll help you out.
the nade launchers are one shot kills right, as you would expect. but their splash damage is ridiculously low and they have no devitation. what this means is its not used like a nade launcher at all, but as a shotgun.
for example you run around a corner at the same time as somebody else, you are 2feet away from each other and fire at the same time. he has a rifle of some sort and you have a nade launcher.
no worries you just jump into the air and fire at his feet. 'but you'll die!' you're thinking. dont worry, you'll be fine. you see the aoe effect of the nades is only a couple of inches wide while being a one shot kill to anybody it hits.
"but what if you miss?" you ask. you wont miss! the launcher is as accurate while running and jumping as it is while prone and still. and dont worry timmy, theres no min range on it either.
if somebody can actually hit ppl w/ it at range, that takes skill. now that i know you werent aware of how it could be used i understand how you thought i thought all the other things you proposed in your previous posts.
Yes, it takes very little coordination, can be accomplished with very slow reflexes, and is totally unrealistic. However, figuring out how to efficently accomplish your goals is a skill. If you can figure out to win a fight with the least risk, then that is figuring out a way to efficently accomplish your goals. The goal of BF2 is to win within the boundaries of the game itself, yes?
So if someone, for example, is playing baseball and not swinging at any pitches and gets a walk because the pitcher throws 4 balls are they called lame? All you need is good eye sight to see if you will get strikes or not, while it requires no:
Physical strength
Accuracy (to make sure you don't hit a foul)
Speed (if you get a walk you don't need to get to first base fast)
not falling into the trap of participating in the rampid teamkilling
by your teammates fighting over jets and choppers.. and ALL the other
kiddie stuff going on within the game these days..
I wish BF2 had a age limit... scan your drivers license or something
before it would load... :)
I understand exactly what you're saying.. and, to a degree, I fully agree with you. A grenade launcher can turn a great infantry battle into complete **** in seconds. It also pretty much squanders any time of tactical advantage (using teamwork) that you can have... since real-world tactics (wedge formation, flanking, tactical retreats, etc) will not work, because the grenade launcher in BF2 is like some sort of sci-fi **** you see on starship troopers. I mean, it's literally a freaking grenade that you can shoot.. even at point blank range. It also has a heavy arch drop (unlike real life), so you can easily wipe out people take cover behind something.
What you fail to realize is that you (among others) are creating a set of personal rules that you deem "lame" and "not lame" -- which will only cause arguments between people that think the game should be played with these personal rules in mind and people that think they have every right to use what the game gives them fairly without getting bitched at by every other person.
Don't rip on the gaming community for enjoying their game and playing fairly (not cheating or exploiting). Instead, rip on the developers for not properly coordinating their testing teams to pick these things out -- or, if the test teams were properly coordinated, allowing this type of gameplay even though it's purely evident that it ****es off the people that are big fans of the BF series and enjoy this game as a hobby a few times a week.
Anyway, thankfully we have plenty of mods coming our way very soon so we won't have to worry about all of these problems for long.
