well, no, EA/Dice are seeing if they will release a patch or not, its not even sertain there will be one, let alone 2, NO FAITH i have.



Its not build like a tank, one rpg would take it down (yes BH down is not a fantasy tale), let alone a high tech SRAW. leave real life out of this.



And yes, a single infantry man should be able to take out most vehicles on their own given the right tools. There is nothing wrong with it, as long as the vehicles maintain their usefullness. BF1942 did it, BF:V did it to some extent. The way its going, people in the vehicles get the upper hand over pretty much everyone without even trying to hard.

As i like to put it.. "The results one can get in a plane or een helicopter are disporportionate to the amount of skill and efford used"

Also a bit about tanks... the front of an M1 Abrams can very easily take a direct RPG hit and have no damage done what so ever to it...The round will in fact deflect off...

Finally I dont know what you are talking about with the not trying hard its not that easy to go around and get tons of kills in any armor, helicopter, or plane when there are decent players in the game...Oh and know wonder you are bitching...I just looked at your stats

I kinda agree with you but, It wasn't Battlefield 2 that ruined the community, it was the ranking system. The Battlefield franchise was better off without it. If you think about it, that's where all this whore sh*t is coming from. To me it's the people that refuse to jump into an APC/Tank/Chopper/Plane and whip some butt that mess up this game. If they would stop treating this game like its AA:SF or CS, and treat it like it's supposed to be, we wouldn't have all this crap happening.

In the previous Battlefield games I never once heard anything about being a whore on anything. BF2 comes along, with a ranking/scoring system, then we get "crane whore"...give me a break.

I have to post one of my recent experiences here. I was playing on Sharqi as the MEC. We were getting creamed. No one on our team was using the tank, so I jumped in and started trying to take some flags. I captured the west most point and one of the MEC guys spawned there. He then layed a bunch of c4 on my tank and blew it up. He then proceeded to insult me for using the tank "You F***ing tank whore. You ruin this game. We dont need s***** player like you" (foul mouth on this guy). As I was trying to respond to this guy (keyword trying) someone from the USMC came over and took the tank. He reemed us a new one and we lost the battle horribly. I was soo ****ed with that guy (admin kicked him next round :nerr:).

Anyways, the reason I quoted Hightower was because of what he said about us just needing to start using the vehicles. If that guy had let me keep using the tank, I'm positive I could have nullified the other tank. I've been trying to get into the thinking of using vehicles, but its getting pretty hard in game. The only vehicle that I think is completely useless are planes. I despise them with a passion. The only counter to one is another plane, and if you dont have a decent pilot you are screwed.

this is not true, in BF1942 it was to easy to fly a plane, every bomb you drop was a hit, you could fly full speed into a hangar and get repaired instead of crashing.

Yes, flying was easier in BF42, much because the planes were a lot slower.
However, since they were slower they were also more vulnerable to ground fire, and it was a lot harder staying in the air for a whole round in BF42 than BF2.
I think this is why he said that it was harder to rack up a 100+ score in BF42 compared to BF2.

All the land, sea and air vehicles mixed in with grunts are what makes this game special. It's a modern battlefield featuring similarly equipped armies and no one piece of equipment owns, the players do. I never complain about tanks, apcs or any other vehicle taking me out. If it does, I'll just do my best to turn the tables using my brain and the equipment I have available (or run like hell and hide until it goes away.. ).
There's too many childish complainers playing this game who want everything easy or a totally level playing field. Life's not like that. It's only a game, if you can't enjoy the challenge, go play something else or take up cross stitch. Either way quit whining, join squads, pick an equipment kit appropriate to the task and communicate.

I really dont need to research this, i know my aviation well enough, and as i said, leave real life out of this.

Yeah, tanks and such should be able to take some hits to the front, but the rear and topside should be vulnerable,like in Bf1942/BF:V, that was perfect, tanks could take alot to the front, but the rear was like butter.

Decent players shouldnt get scores of 100+ that should be reserved for the very best players, all it takes to rape spawns with sertain vehicles is "be decent". A sign the game isnt balanced.

And what do my stats tell you hmm? Only that im not a poiint whore, dont judge me till you have seen me ingame buddy.

A good player is one that does whatever he can within the rules of the game to get a good as score as possible. In real life you won t see a tank driver being given a sniper and sent into battle. Nor would you see a sniper ebing given a tank to drive. The driver probabaly couldn t shoot and the sniper probabaly can t drive.:|:

No one should be mad at someone for using a vehicle to kill you, you should be mad at yourself for being too stupid to run into the fire of that vehicle. I rarely die from tanks or aircraft for the simple fact that if i hear a tank i get prone in soem grass and don t move, if i see or hear aircraft i check for where they are and get under some decent cover. If there is none, the nearest lake will do. Whatever it takes. Of course i don t run or hide from my own teams vehicles just incase someone wants to make a ****ty little joke about that :p :p

Ill just like to add something hear i honestly have no problem with any vehicals/weapon in this game each side is pretty balanced i.e. the ak rules upclose but the m16 beat them hands down at a range. But there is one blaintant flaw i do think is unfair if the tanks are balanced and the apc are balanced the planes are balanced and the weapons are balanced what about the transport helis. The BH is massivley superior compared to the MEC and Chinese flying buses in everyway as far as i can make out . It has superior fire power superior maneuvorability superior everything from what i can figure out or is it that the flying buses have better armour can someone tell me as i dont know what there is to balance out the transport helis. Now im not saying that the BH should be nerfed but what i am saying is if the BH has all these major advantages what do the MEC and Chinese sides get ?????.

Just give something that has a chance in hell of countering planes (besides another plane) and I'll be a happy grunt. It's being killed by the same *self-censoring* over and over again with NO chance whatsoever to strike back that gets me angry.

All other vehicles are good as is.. some people will even complain about Vodniks or FAV's.. if you can't take those out, then yes, maybe it's time to move back to backgammon or pac-man

When I can put 3 AT missiles into the back and side of an APC and it doesn't die, there's a problem.

BF42 was better because a skilled bazooka man could get behind a tank (even the Tigers) and take it down in 1 or 2 shots. I've tried and tried to do that with the SRAW or Eryx....no dice. Real life - tanks need to be guarded from handheld AT in cities, thats why we have infantry. If I can get around behind a tank and put just ONE AT missile in its exhaust, it should be toast. Its sad when two chunks of C4 is more effective than the AT missiles.

Same with blackhawks - you shouldn't be able to put an entire basic load of AK fire into a hellicopter - I'm talking all 4 mags or whatever - and this thing is still flying. Thats just crap. Helicopters are not as tough as that guy on the front page claims - some bits are tough, and some are incredibly delicate. If an AT missile hits a BH, that should be game over. Same with the jets - the problem is that they are too effective and there's no decent counter. The stingers? Yeah right.

I had a horrible round of wake last night, we could barely make it off the carrier. We were playing against some really good pilots. They were barely using their bombs, just using there vulcans. We were already half way down in points and they were wrecking everything we sent ashore. (I am sure they got bored of owning us and let us finally land ashore). Once we finally got ashore and took some points and then they bombed us into the ground. I was cursing and swearing for a good half hour. (i am sure i woke my neighbors). But this is the game i love to hate. There are things that happen in this game that i would like to see changed. There are times when i know i am being out played. But i still seem to have a blast. We all have our own reasons for playing and i for one would not throw out anything in the game. I might just tweak it a little.... :)

Helicopters are weak.

If you see a helicopter, park your jeep in a covered position, and apply .50

If they flee, they might get away, if they try to get you on a second strafe, they are dead.

I've OWNED so many choppers with the .50 cal that they've hunted me down before.
IF I don't kill them before they find me, it usually goes like this:
Chopper is coming, *F2*
Plug 'em full of holes
Chopper is coming at me, *F1*
RUN RUN RUN!!!
Chopper misses, *F2*
Finish them off

They get me 50% of the time if I'm spotted but that's only 40% of the time.:laugh:

Fun stuff. I LOVE the vehicles and wish there were more.
