    BF:SF preview

On a dutch site, there is a preview about BF2:SF , it's in dutch but I will translate the most important things for you guys, FYI they got an official trial verion of the game for testing, BUT i will tell you this is a site who gives fair reviews, for example of BF2 they said :" great game but put down with tons of bugs and glitches"

    - the concept is the same offcourse, capturing flags, and there are six army's to do this ; US; England, Rusia; MEC, rebels and another kind of rebels , so no chinees guys here , and another remark, the MEC and the russian are using the exact same weapons as the MEC in BF2 , only the rocket launcher is changed.

    - offcourse you have the extra's like grapple hook, tear gass, flash bang and stuff, but everybody already knew this.

    - the rocket launchers have more splash damage, you can even blow several vehicles up with one rocket due to splash damage (they say it gives some nice ingame views).

    - material penetration is a real feature now, hiding behind a concreet wall is more safe then hiding after some wooden boxes or metal plates for example

NOW THE DOWN SIDE , THE VERY DOWN SIDE :
offcourse it's a preview version but hear this out.
-Game has serious memory problems, sometimes the game won't run smoot at all or even not playable
-they had some blue screens during testing of the game
    - and they had to reset there BIOS once (can you believe this, how a program sucks this hard it even mess up your BIOS)
    - two of the three preview maps weren't even playable due to bugs .

There overall end comment, DICE has tons of work to do here, the expansion is far from ready, and if you know how long they worked on 1.03 before it came out and it even didn't solve most technical problems with the game they fear the wurst .......

My opinion : when it comes out, don't buy it from the first day, I think it will be a dissaster

Yeah, I'm probably going to buy it used, but I hope they manage to get it working. Those new urban maps are in high demand.

I wonder if you can kill anyone with the grappling hook...

i am guessing that DICE will get the feedback from those guys and try to iron those glitches out... meaning the release date will be postponed -- but I am willing to take a chance and get it as soon as it comes out.

I am prety shure of that, if you can kill someone with a smoke nade, you probably going to be able to kill someone with a grapling hook.

and indeed, the M203 noobs, be aware, if those rockets are going to be this powerfull, it's going to be hell

I hope to god when SF is released it is not going to be chalf full of rocket launcher noobs. Although one good thing if they have big splash damage they can't shoot you from 2 ft away right?

Any self-respecting gamer will steer far clear of this thing and wait for free mods.

Well the weapon that shuts down the other guy's BIOS will be the winner hands down =)

Oh btw I wouldn't be worrying about the M203 noobs anymore in CQC -- it'll be the noob flashers that will cause problems (especially with night vision)

for me the same, OK, resetting your BIOS (they probably ment a CMOS reset) isn't a whole lot of work, but still when you have a good stable system you want to keep it this way and don't want to ruin it by playing a game.

What I am afraid off , is the fact if they are going to use the same testing people .
Because the guys who tested BF2 and the 1.03 patch where just bragging about the fact they already could play it, but they actualy didn't do there work as testers (reporting and stuff)

                        Blue Screen of Death?

No way I'm getting this expansion until that's fixed.

                        And the BIOS problem too.

Throw it directly at them, and make sure the grenade makes physical contact with the player you wish to kill.

                              So, lemme get this straight.

They want us to pay about 30 bucks for:

Battlefield 2: The stuff we originally said would be in the game and then took it out + new maps, new player skins and new player voices and about 4 new vehicles

(WARNING: ALL CTDS AND OTHER ERRORS ARE CAUSED BY THE USER, EA GAMES HAS NO RESPONSIBLILTY FOR THE INSTABILITY OF THE AFOREMENTIONED PRODUCT)

                              ?

You've got to be kidding me. It's like a mod... that costs money... and blows up your computer...

Seriously, it has the amount of stuff a good mod team could make in 6 months. And, being designed by DICE, under EA pressure, it WILL (not might) be as buggy if not more than BF2.
