after reading some of these posts i played some last night with the pkm and did pretty good. on mashtur, i was at the mosque on the side with all the bushes. i was prone under the bushes and there were 2 snipers on the tall building across the road by the backyard (i think) flag area. i ended up sniping one with my pkm! lol. i think it was just luck, but that was really funny.

The PKM is the best support weapon IMO because it's a squad killer. With the SAW you can take half your box to kill one guy, only to be shot by someone else and have that guy revived. With the PKM, I can kill an entire 6 person squad with 50 rounds of ammo without any damage on me whatsoever. Now after 1.3, it seems I can even snipe with it. When I'm on the roof in the garden type base, I can hit and kill people on the first flag capping it. It's awesome. And the grenades are the best thing. I have more kills with grenades than anything else. So often I see myself killing someone with a grenade. Then a medic comes, revives him, and I kill both of them with grenades. Seriously, I love support more than anything else. Just the lack of reloading, unlimited grenades, and nearly infinite squad points are awesome.

The PKM is just like any of the machine guns except a little more power. I find that the PKM does the best for me while I'm laying in choke points. Karkand has a ton of them. I lay down in an alley that I am fairly sure that the enemy will be coming through and get ready. Anything comes around that corner...they get mowed down before they know what hit them. The tricky part is positioning yourself in a place that they can't accurately throw grenades at you once they know you are there.

the pkm is a gun whether u have time to harness its power or ud rather pick up another kit...me...i can harness anything it doesnt make a difference wether its a zip gun or a damn pkm its not hard points and shoot...but in my opion the rpk is over the pkm not in terms of power but in terms of the way people get hit...you dont even see the little x that marks u hitting them some times so the ull jsut see them drop out of no ware....i know when i get hit by an rpk by the second or maybe if im lucky third shot im down from some distance....but the pkm holds the power mark and the saw....u can just put out a serious number of rounds with it...but aim for the head and be prone...or else ur wasting your time

o yeah....and the chinese support gun is just domination....theres no other word for it that gun is just b!tchen but the only draw back is the short clip but by the time u over heat....ur done with almost ur whole clip with maybe 20 shots left

Oh, I know how to use it fine - I'm just know that other guns are much better, AND more flexible.

The problem with everyone who advocates the PKM is that they desperately want to like Support - so much that they trick themselves into thinking the PKM is an exceptional gun. It's very mediocre, and incredibly limited in its usefulness.

Oh and another thing, yesterday my uncle was visting me, and he wanted to try this new and exciting game called BF2. So he joins this server, and it's Mashtuur City. He spawns as a sniper but can't hit **** ("What the hell this is not how a real rifle works, in CS:S I kill people this way all the time"). Anyway, he was defending the backyard (I think), and a guy with the PKM runs up to him and starts shooting, and my uncle ****ing kills the PKM guy with two shots to the head, missing three or so. I almost crapped my pants, and he was like "What? What did I do?".

edit: apparently graphic violence is ok but not swearing... oh well

these light machine guns are/were designed for one purpose ...suppressing fire in real life no self respecting soldier is going to peek up over his shelter to take a shot with the firepower these bring to target.

but since it's just a game we get bunny hoppers jumping around like circus clowns noobing with grenade launchers ... demonstrating that in a game practice makes for better killing

you can quote rpm/deviation/muzzle velocity yaddayadda if u use a weapon enough in the right hands it a great weapon no matter which one it is

The PKM is much better than all default support guns. I've been using it for a long while now, and even now i am sometimes amazed that i dropped a guy over such a long range. It is way more accurate than the other support guns. Pulling up the iron sights seems to be a requirement if you want to hit anthing though. If you compare the accuracy over 10m with and without the sights, you'll notice the difference.

The Chinese LMG is exactly the same as the SAW except it has a smaller magazine and faster reloading. I prefer the 200 rounds.

are you sure? Because SAW has 200 rounds, the time may be the same.

Anyway, they get LMG all wrong. Type 95 should have been given a 75 round drum but should have been extrmely accurate (similar to Ak101), since it's basically an assualt rifle, however it should overheat fast (again, it's an assualt rifle)

the thing about PKM is that it's actually pretty bad in short range, since both Chinese and US MG spews out more damage (25x900) than it (45x450), but PKM is more accurate.

You got it. Since the LMG accuracy stinks all around, more bullets = better.

No. LMG's accuracy is fairly good. In the best circumstances, it equals to 0.64. That is only slightly lower than G3's accuracy

also, try to aim low, you will be surprised. Personally, I feel that PKM's accuracy is slightly better than AK47 in CSS.
