If games would really influence people, I'd have committed so many crimes by now I'd have earned a place in the deepest dungeon with the keys thrown away.
Been gaming for as long as I can remember, about the age of 5-6.. and not once have I even thought about skull-capping my neighbours, not once did I entertain the thought of driving my car over some pedestrians, and I also am not about to do a carjacking or pimping my girlfriend.
People who use games as an excuse for their behaviour would have been mental cases without games, as well, in which case they'd have had to look for another excuse (ranging from: the voices made me do it! to 'When I played that album backward, a message from Satan told me to go on a killing spree!')
I for one would like to see a pic of the 4-year old grunt

Child development specialists would have a field day with this one. It goes without saying that the effect of this game on any given four year old is gong to depend on a lot of other child rearing aspects of this kid's life. For most four year olds this game might be ok, as long as strict limits are placed on amount of playing time, etc. But who knows? Do you know how this game is affecting the mental development of your four year old? That's why there are age limits on a lot of things in life - so kids aren't exposed to situations that they cannot or may not be able to rationalize. Would I let my four year play a game like this? Are you kidding me? How about watching R rated movies? If this game is ok for a four year old, can it not be argued that watching an R rated movie is ok for a four year old as well? Granted they are different mediums of entertainment and one is a passive environment while the other requires interaction, but the principle remains the same - kids are not adults (but there are a lot of adults who are still kids). Yeah, it sounds real cool to say that a four year old is running around killing people on an online game (metaphorically speaking), now if only he could drink a beer, light up a smoke, and maybe even watch a good R rated movie, he'd be set. There are age limitations for a reason people - WAKE UP!
And for those who think it's "awesome". Words fail me.
And as a clarification, by using the word "adult", I don't neccesarily mean an 18 year old.Comment

I think the youngster needs to be outside playing, not in front of a computer. But since Your son is not mine... you can raise him any way you want.

where to start, where to start..lol
Well firstly, please beleive me he does alot more then sitting in-front of the computer/TV. I pay alot of money for him to attend a advanced pre-school whiel me and his mother are at work, thats were he has developed his ability to use a keyboard and mouse and such, whie also learning other fundementals (reading writing etc..). After which we have youth indoor soccer 3 times a week and tons of other activities...trust me, wears me out.
But here in the north east fall is apon us, so its cold and dreary and gettign darker faster, so sometimes instead of are usual playign with his toys or coloring, yes we play video games.
Now to compare Bf2 to a rated R movie is crazy, Rated R means Sex/Language...Indiana Jones, Star Wars etc...rated PG, and that was some real fighting..not pixels with out blood.
He calls it army game, he understands its an army simulation.
Most of all Im honest with my son, Im young and a bit of realist. I discuss things with him, I dont butter crap up, I dont sheidl him form the world. I watch the news, he asked questions..I explain, he learns. Yes I sheild him form 2 things, sex and overly used profanity..a few F**cks and S*its wont kill ya, but to much is just to much for anyone tho. He plays Hulk, Spiderman..watches Tom & Jerry, Star Wars...crap we grew up with...violent stuff.
It all comes down to one major factor..do you talk about stuff with your kid, do you leave them un-attended...if you do they yes you leave room for misconceptions and stuff of tha nature.
So Im gonna sit back and rember being 4...well i didnt have sweet graphics liek Bf2 but i did have Combat for my Atari, a full set of GI Joes with rocket lauchers etc.. I had my rambo playset with 4 piece rocket lacnher/machien gun.....you get the picture.
Ah well..right now he's on the floor with his Inuyasha figures, I see him over there with Miroku and Inuyasha attackign Sesshomaru and Naraku..I better step in before he thinks he's a demon and child welfare comes and takes him away:laugh: ..or I can sit back and have to keep putting Inuyashas sword back in its hand casue he cant get it to stay lol.Comment

i didnt start playing till i was 8 now iv been playing for 9 years and when i try and teach someone it ends in a fist fight or him kicking my comp and him having to pay me 2,000 because of the damage.Comment

Originally he woudl play single player mode. Right across form were I sit and play is the TV I have his gamecube hooked up to, so after a few days of me playign BF2 and him playing Ultimate Spiderman and Hulk he started buggin me saying 'lemme play the army game!"
So I set him up on single player and woudl say.."kill the reds". Took a while for him to grasp it so to say..alot of TK's and alot of ammo/explosives wasted (he had it in his mind everything coudl be destroyed, even walls). After a week or 2 of single player games he then started buggin me "I want your more guns, I want your guns!!". I thougt "no way Im letting him get 10000 deaths and a few Tk's on my account!"..then I remembered, my first account "Thirdeyepry" had like 8k points, and thanks to the new poitns system he has all but 2 unlocks
So now my 4yr old son is running around with his fave the G36c, and yes he's better then i expected..well nto great, usually he gets 2-4 kills, 2-5 team points...and 15+ deaths..lol...tho he tends to Jihad himself a little to much :laugh: but to my amazement NO TK's!!! I mean most adults cant do that lolololol
