That's pretty sad if you ask me. At 4 years old your child should be learning the basics of everyday skills, such as speech, reading, and writing. Not learning how to play a game - expecially since BF2 is extremely violent.

I agree with you, but sometimes when the little ones watch you playing they start to learn the game slowly no matter what.

My daughter is 2-1/2 years ole. when ever she watches me playing and see a guy walk in front of me she says "kill him!" for the first time when I heard that I was like :cry: :cry: :cry: :cry: :cry: but now at least I convinced my self that she means "click the mouse button!" or "make that BOOM sound!"

Thats right my little boy is rocking in BF2 now...and he just turned 4 on the 17th

Originally he woudl play single player mode. Right across form were I sit and play is the TV I have his gamecube hooked up to, so after a few days of me playign BF2 and him playing Ultimate Spiderman and Hulk he started buggin me saying 'lemme play the army game!"
So I set him up on single player and woudl say.."kill the reds". Took a while for him to grasp it so to say..alot of TK's and alot of ammo/explosives wasted (he had it in his mind everything coudl be destroyed, even walls). After a week or 2 of single player games he then started buggin me "I want your more guns, I want your guns!!". I thougt "no way Im letting him get 10000 deaths and a few Tk's on my account!"..then I remembered, my first account "Thirdeyepry" had like 8k points, and thanks to the new poitns system he has all but 2 unlocks
So now my 4yr old son is running around with his fave the G36c, and yes he's better then i expected..well nto great, usually he gets 2-4 kills, 2-5 team points...and 15+ deaths..lol...tho he tends to Jihad himself a little to much :laugh: but to my amazement NO TK's!!! I mean most adults cant do that lolololol

So if your on the feild and you get killed by Thirdeyepry...you got pwned by a 4 year old lololololol.

Woot awesome my Kids a Halo 2 Allstar and he will be 4 in Dec hes been playing for about a year now! I know exactly where you are coming from with letting your kid play, Some people understand some do not. Thats how the world is and will continue forever. I accept both parties views on the subject but you know what, they are not you are me, so let them go govern their own lives!

Oh and to Add my child regardless of what you think or know about children who play games is at the learning age group of a 7year old, thanks to doctor tests/studies for day school placements, I may jump start his schooling when hes 4 ish. Dont bash on peopel and their kids, it takes a lot for a child this age to be able to play games, you wouldnt understand unless you were an open minded non-bias parent. So if you think its wrong, raise your kid different, but dont tell others how to do their natural given right.

No, depending on how it is stated, I think the words I use were a little to deep, my apologies. Everyone has opinions but people shouldnt just souly focus on what they think, they can still hold their ideals but they should be open minded and accept the others views.

I accept all the views I just get worked when I see people post certain things, read through and you might see where im comign from since im on the other side of the fence.

having had a computer since i was four years old myself i can honestly say that.. if one day i do have a sprog then that sprog will NOT have a computer till he/she is about eight to nine years old and gotten past that basic stage in life where everything he/she takes in counts, computers and telly are very good at distracting kids but distract them in all the wrong ways

no wonder we have people running around on the streets stabbing/shooting each other if this is whats being fed to them at such an early age, all be it that i said i was playing at four but the quality of the games on the good old atari 2600's (and the C64 for that matter) was no where near the quality of the violence you see in some titles today and yes that includes bf2

but what do i know i havent got kids and probably never will so blah get the kid manhunt for all i care :yay:

I think thats great mate and i honestly do think thats realy awsome your kid is well advanced for his age give him a year of playing he'll proberly turn into a good player. Proffesional video gaming is in its infancy by the time he gets older its gonna be alot bigger think how young tiger woods was when he started out playing golf you got youself a little genius there. And the hole they should be learning to read & write at that age if you explain to him and use it as a learning tool there gonna be a clever one. Think of this someone requests supplies you hear it then you see a message in to top of the screen id be so proud if i had a kid that could read and write and understand words like that at 4 years of age. Its all about supervision just sticking your kid infront of a video game or the tv is bad but if you make it into an activity i cant see anything wrong with that myself.

I think it's fine that he lets his kid play. It just depends on how much IMO. Since he's impressionable, after a while of playing, he may start thinking something like "Since daddy lets me kill people on computers, maybe I can own people in the bank-y!!!". That probably won't ever happen. If it does, it's going to take a LONG time for the idea of killing people to go from clicking mouse button to make boom-boom, to clicking mouse button to make that guy lose his family and vice-versa. So I would SUGGEST you cut him off if his attitude towards death or violence starts faltering from what you want it to be. I cut myself off for a while when I realized my homework was rushed and blah blah blah blah blah. So I uninstalled and locked the game up in my suitcase and put it in my attic. Then I got control and I play much less now.

On the topic of the influence of video game violence: I think it's pretty false most of the time (Hillary is kind of eccentric). I doubt that the drive-by killers are venting out their anger because of that. Like I doubt that Columbine was based on owning people from counterstrike. Video games are the same as war movies or anything graphic about war. I'm wondering why Saving Private Ryan or Full Metal Jacket or Black Hawk Down or Gladiator or blah blah are not as criticized.
