Only the default (TGN Light) theme for now. Dark them is also coming back soon. Then CSN. Then Wrestlin' Nation. A lot of WIP stuff right now. There are a couple of things still not working either. Sorry.
I was playing last night and this was the first time I've had a Blackhawk gunner kill my APC in about 5 secs of firing at it. I know this is an arcade game, but c'mon! There's no way a 7.62 round would even penetrate the armor. I can live with taking some license to make the game fun, but geez.
If it takes two or three hits to kill an APC with a shoulder launched AT missile, a minigun shouldn't kill it.
Well yes but the APC was prolly nearly dead anyway. If your going too complain about that then your going to have too complain about the use of 'energy' altogether because its not realistic for ainjured soldier to run just like he normally would but with some of his 'energy bar' reduced either is it.
You're right about the A-10, but you're off on the minigun. The basic multi-barrel system is in both the minigun and the Avenger cannon, but that's about it. The A-10 fires 30mm depleted uranium rounds, while the minigun uses standard NATO 7.62mm ordinance. So, yeah, you're assumption about uranium is correct for the A-10, but it's wrong for the minigun. I still wouldn't be surprised if it could damage an armored vehicle in reality, but I don't think anyone here could prove it.
Its just a game...
Edit- Argh, BTW dude, I didn't see a single Blackhawk or an Apache in that entire video. The gun was mounted on a truck, a Bell Huey, and a Little Bird. Don't try to sound smart when you have no clue what you're talking about.
Edit Again- ARGH, Uranium shells don't explode on contact either. The whole point is for them to be so dense that they PENETRATE the armored target. That's what makes them so effective. They're NOT incindiary.

You said it all so I didn't have to, thanks! =P
"I saw it on the military channel so I'm officially an expert, and the internet said so too"
some people just don't know or care to understand what they are talking about.
I'm not an expert (seen some videos and shows) but i know for damn sure that a mini/vulcan/gatling gun mounted in a helo or truck WILL NOT use the same ammo that the A-10 uses. Those rounds are so big, that the helo couldn't carry very many of them.
Well I wouldn't call myself an expert either, and I hate to sound like a stickler...
But I just HATE it when people try to prove a point on complete lies and assumptions!
the game would be a very good simulation other than the fact that
EA/DICE got a few major (and obvious) flaws in the power of some of
the items..especially the Attack Choppers..
I mean cmon... a Tank shell direct hit on a chopper in BF2 only makes
it start smoking..???? How dumb is that...
Its sad, that what all the kiddies and stat padders like to use the
most...CHOPPER and/or JET are the 2 items in the game that
are overpowered and hardest to kill.. and out of whack..
Its getting sad too, I played about 6 games last night, and noticed
NUMEROUS times all those kiddies fighiting over who was gonna get
the jets and choppers when they spawned.. I spawned on deck
a few times and immediately started taking fire from several teammates
time after time.. guess they didnt want me there...
I wish we could take all these little kiddies and put them all on one
server somewhere..

Close your eyes, click your heels together 3 times and say out loud "This is not a simulation, this is not a simulation, this is not a simulation".
The M134 minigun can fire up to 4,000 - 6,000 rounds per minute. Thats about 80-100 rounds PER SECOND. It would tear an APC apart in real life in less than 5 seconds (~500 rounds fired.)

It would be impossible for infantry to fire this gun on foot. They would fly 10 feet back upon firing the weapon:laugh:
The recoil of the M134 minigun is 120 kg (270 lbs) at its peak. There is no other choice than to have this weapon mounted. Once its mounted, the accuracy isnt that bad, since everything within a 15 foot radius would die.
yes, but 4,000 - 6,000 rounds per minute... thats about 83 rounds i one second..., and two of the is enough to kill someone... all the others wpuld just end up in the ground...
