    Blackhawk miniguns kill apcs? What?!

I was playing last night and this was the first time I've had a Blackhawk gunner kill my APC in about 5 secs of firing at it. I know this is an arcade game, but c'mon! There's no way a 7.62 round would even penetrate the armor. I can live with taking some license to make the game fun, but geez.
If it takes two or three hits to kill an APC with a shoulder launched AT missile, a minigun shouldn't kill it.

i think the minigun is using either explosive or (most likely not but) incendiary rounds

Unrealistic? You don't know anything.. at close enough range an AK-47 would pierce that armor.

An Ak-47 wont pierce an APC, (Armored Personel Carrier)

the real life blackhawk carries the gatlin gun, which fires explosive rounds that contain uranium shells, which explote in contact. it was designed for the a-10 thunderbolt, (which we all know n love from DC) to kill tanks wit few bursts of bullets..so its not UNREALISTIC... its very real.. belive it.. i watched it in the military channel

The following link contains the gatlin gun fired by different vehicles.. apache, blackhawk, etc...

You're right about the A-10, but you're off on the minigun. The basic multi-barrel system is in both the minigun and the Avenger cannon, but that's about it. The A-10 fires 30mm depleted uranium rounds, while the minigun uses standard NATO 7.62mm ordinance. So, yeah, you're assumption about uranium is correct for the A-10, but it's wrong for the minigun. I still wouldn't be surprised if it could damage an armored vehicle in reality, but I don't think anyone here could prove it.

                Its just a game...

Edit- Argh, BTW dude, I didn't see a single Blackhawk or an Apache in that entire video. The gun was mounted on a truck, a Bell Huey, and a Little Bird. Don't try to sound smart when you have no clue what you're talking about.

Edit Again- ARGH, Uranium shells don't explode on contact either. The whole point is for them to be so dense that they PENETRATE the armored target. That's what makes them so effective. They're NOT incindiary.

well ak47s are powerful..maybe not powerful enuff to pierce that thick of armor but it uses the same ammo as the scout in css,

hehehe what apc were you in - the AUS/LAV (which is identical to the american LAV) can be penetrated by a .50 and even lower calibur... all depends on where the fire is coming from. dont ask how i know - suffice to say they look like shot up tin cans after heavy fire... unless they have added additional armour kits since 98 but even then it wouldnt be much as it has balance issues anyway......

I think this is now impossible since 1.03.

some people just don't know or care to understand what they are talking about.

I'm not an expert (seen some videos and shows) but i know for damn sure that a mini/vulcan/gatling gun mounted in a helo or truck WILL NOT use the same ammo that the A-10 uses. Those rounds are so big, that the helo couldn't carry very many of them.

Given time, an automatic rifle will be able to penetrate tank armour. A few thousand rounds in the same spot would eventually get through. Tank armour is tough, but not impenetrable.

yeah, it really would. and the mini guns spit rounds out so fast im suprised it took 5 seconds of shooting. but in real-life that is entirely possible.
