I have done it on Sharqi. I was at the MEC main base, when a US Cobra came in, and hovered over the flag. I just happend to turn & get aimed just right, and popped the pilot. I was amazed that i had managed to pull it off. Thought that it was pretty cool that i was able to do it. I think it was not too long after I had gotten the M95 unlocked.

Definitly, its pretty easy to Snipe pilots in the BH or AH-1Z they always stop long enough when they turn or when they try to cap flags or stop to let people out. The M-95 is obviously the only one to do it since it has the .50 cal armour peircing rounds. So if you like flying dont stop moving or you will see Icecreemman [M-95] ?????

I have done it probably a couple dozen times, but for each pilot/gunner I have sniped successfully, I would say there has been about 20-30 attempts that failed.

this sounds about the truth. I also think you have to hit a pilot/copilot who is already partially down on his health to get a one shot kill. Even head shots sometimes need two goes with a regular infantry. Havent done it yet myself, but then I dont snipe much.

Oh yeah, and the M95 or Chinese/MEC equivalent is a must.

i have done it once to a pilot to a jet just as he took off like 1 foot off the ground and once i did it to a helo pilot and he crashed into a tank only got 2 kill tho... DAM@! but it was still cool!

You dont neccesarily need to have someone at partial health to single headshot them. alot of it depends on range. From what I have experienced it has some to do with range. If I am shooting at around 500m or longer headshots can take 2 to be fatal. closer then that a single head shot will always do the job even through cocpits and vehicle windows.

Can a sniper really take out say....a pilot in a flying chopper or even a plane?
But all in one shot?

on wake island or what ever map that has a carrier, i just sneak over to it, sit at the top of the carrier and snipe whoever gets into a plane or heli. you may call it cheeze, but its their fault for not reallizing theres a sniper and not being able to find me.

ive been
shot out of a BH cockpit with a stinger bfor, the chopper then crashed i get blamed for the Tks.....i ve sniped bh pilot out in Mashtuur but it was like from 10 M away and he was hovering really still

I gota say although its pointless in 90% of the time, sniping is the top 3 fun things to do in bf2. In fact I would go snipe now if I didnt have 3 hours of hw left.

yeah, I have done it plenty, but it has to be a head shot, if it's a body shot or shoulder shot it won't do anything, only headshots do damage and kill instantly when enemies are in attack choppers, transport, airplanes, or heavy jeeps. if it's not a head shot when the enemy is in one of these vehicles I don't believe it deals any damage to their health meter at all.
