Re: BH tip on wake island

Im always first to load, when on wake i grab the jet, make squad on the way over, parachute over chinese airfield and grab the tank, then one by one all my 5 squad mates join me and grab all the vehicles/aircraft.
Then have 2 fronts pushing out of the airfield in either direction......BUT NEVER TAKE THE TANK AWAY FROM THE AIRFIELD...stay and defend with it

Actually its human nature NOT to look up. My friend made it with his girlfriend in a tree...no one noticed.
I take it your not a pilot as i always look up as if you see a chopper it pretty noticable as all there is, is sky, also 200 foot isn't very high at all i would class 600 as high.

Hope everyone does what you do, the first thing I go for after the rond start in my jet is look for fully loaded BH like you. 200m in the air, wonderful, nice black target in the white background. easily line up for the cockpit, 2 sec, burst, 5 kills.

But your tactic still depends on nobody is defending the main Chinese base...

Re: BH tip on wake island

Nice tip! Finally some people grasp the concept of HALO and HAHO (High Altitude- High Opening). HALOs are very effective if you like traveling 120mp/h towards the ground then deploying your parachute very very close to the ground!

Anywho souring high in a Black Hawk and having troops HALO out is very effective, simply because you have 5 infantry rocketing towards your main base. Also, another tip, have your squad members all be spec ops, they can launch 5 C4 packs at the base, and if you have 5 people dropping 5 C4 packets then that's 25 packets. Then have them all detonate them all at once, this will generally clear out any infantry, tank, or APC within a rather large radious.

However, to get this to work you have to deploy your parachute sooner, throw the C4, then BOOM. This is an excellent tip to distract the enemy to take other key positions, and if a lot of infantry die, then that's more tickets they lose, plus if you can get there quick enough you can neutralize the CP so they can't spawn next to you, thus no resistence and a free enemy base capture.

Anywho that concludes my post. Enjoy!

That's the exact tactic (I fly closer to the water, land and obstacles than anyone I've ever flown with) I use on Wake and it's pretty successful, but to say you've never been shot down....all I can say to that is you must not fly on that map very often. It gets fairly easy to make it to the airfield after the first few minutes, but those first few minutes can be hell if they're manning the AA positions and have mobile AA on both tips of the island!

which the usually do... Go higher then 200m. and don't drop down in front. turn around and come in from the back. If you are lucky.... (won't need luck) all of the chinesse scramble off to fight you on the front of the island usually leaving the main base wide open. except for the commander. You also will probably timed it right to steal there gear as most poeple loose there starting vehicles right away. Definetly recommended for a full chopper. :) GL

Re: BH tip on wake island

the only way i've been able to get to the main land is by swimming, because we had two tanks on each side blowing hell out of everyone, i managed to reach the island behind the tank laying in the grass had two single enemy passed right by me i shot them in the back, then shot the machine gunner in the turrent jumped up ran to the tank placed two sachel charges on the back of the tank and sent him to lala land
i actually hate this site it's almost impossible to to take this island, the marines have no APCs or tanks what crazy SOB besides Bill Clinton as commanders would send a
detachment of marines to an island without armor, who made up this mod anyway the chinese, It would take the US about 10 minutes and there wouldn't be a wake Island
all it would take is about 2 B52, and someone call this game realistic, but I still love playing this game

I don't fly on it all the time, no. But I'd estimate having flown low and along the outer coastline a good 10-12 times without incident.

People would jump out, fall for ages and land wherever they wanted on the map :) In BF2, I usually fly high with the BH and do a loop to lose altitude at the enemy base... It is a fast way to get low and and looks really good .
Heh, yeah. I remember that aswell. When you've been falling for like 60 seconds or so your avatar made skidmarks in his pants even though he had a parachute

I remember falling for up to 3-4 minutes on some occasions. Crazy stuff back then..

I donee the same thing in gulf of oman fly really high where you cant hardly see the ground, and u will see the jets and even that damn hind helo below u, but the problem
is in wake, can't get to the chopper in time, there allways someone that jumps in and heads out most of the time without me lol,
heres another little trick i have used with some success, however it takes a little longer jump in the boat, headout far away from the island as far out as u can
without deserting, keeping watch over ur shoulder if u see the helo or jet bearing down
on u jump out of the boat and he'll think the boat is empty and most of the time he
will leave it alone and when he's out of sight jump in and continue, on avery few occasoions they have shot up my boat, but at least ur alive and it's a long swim home
                              anyway thanks for the tip
