    Is a .22 a 5.56mm round?
    If so then I can tell you that you don't want to get shot anywhere by this ball tip bullet. It does not have a lot of stopping power but is extermely accurate, and as previously stated in another post has a lot of momentum. A person being shot in the chest by one 5.56 round will probably still be able to run at you. This is why army personnel is usually trained to hit different spots in the body. Preferably two in the chest, and one or two rounds in the stomach... The burst mode is perfectly suited for this kind of tactic. One well aimed shot to the face, however, will make the the toughest soldier drop to the ground like a bag of wet sand.
    I think that the devs of BF2 took those facts into consideration when programming the weapons balance. And imo they did a pretty good job keeping a tight balance between game and realism.
