Re: FPS Mentality
First off, the reason I'm answering to that it's because your generalization. My background is Quake, I came to this game knowing nothing about it and I've worked my way up. Now I'm usually at the top of the list of my team for either combat and teamwork and many times both (I seriously hate to brag, but to make my point I needed to point that out). MOST of the time i'm not even looking at the score, just doing my duty and that's how I get my points. I'm not the only one. There's many people like me that understand the game, what's needed to win and by doing it, they get the points.
Don't generalize. If you see people doing too much of one activity (like spawn campign) because they want better scores with complete disregard of what the team really needs, it's because they're selfish idiots which any game is full of and that my friend, has nothing to do with playing quake.
