What is your connection speed, who is your provider? What is current your networking setup?

Shutdown any other programs running, they can be stealing bandwidth. Also, open up Task Manager, open the Processes tab & try killing off anything this looks suspicious.

agreed, in a less annoying type.

wireless works on bursts, its no good for gaming.

Short of going wired? Try to locate your router as close to your computer as physically possible. Keep cordless and cellular phone usage to a minimum. (Some of these interfere, correct?)

But the best way to better your ping while using a wireless connection is to wear a metal colandar on your head whilst you frag. This will create a pulling force on your Internet connection towards yourself.

Plug a CAT 5 cable into the back of your Wireless Router and the other end into your PC. They make long cables too.

sorry nope. wireless is teh crapzors for gaming of all types. (chess doesnt count)
if by wireless you mean a wireless router, you could jam in a cable.

Sorry guys, but I have also a wireless connection, and on 80% of the european servers (live in belgium) my ping is 20 to 60, when playing on a server I am most of the time in the top three when it comes to having a low ping.

Download rate is about 800Kb/s fronm a good server, wireless can be very fast but you need a good router.

About lowering the ping, actualy is the same thing as having a good connection and the connection may not be shared with other applications.

Most important thing is to keep your PC as clean as possible, update your virusscan as much as needed, same for anti spywere and stuff like that, because when a virus, spyware, .... is located on your pc and active , this will use your connection!!!!!!!

Other applications you installed yourself, well of those you should know if they use bandswitch or not, if they do, turn them of when playing.

application who don't use bandswitch, they do nothing about your ping, shutting them down will not lower your ping, only reason to shut them down when playing is to have more CPU power and RAM left for gaming itself
