What is YOUR Biggest Enemy When Piloting a Jet?

Mine is myself :-p It seems like 75% of the time I die in a plane its from crashing, either by getting too cocky, or by trying to outmanuever someone and looping too close to the ground lol. The other 25% would be skilled pilots/AA of course.

But I definatly own myself more than anyone does in a plane.

My worst enemy when piloting is definitely gravity, thank god for magic parachutes.

It’s the ground that does me in....and those missile thingys....ow yeah and helos, and other planes......okay pretty much everything is hazardous with my lack of flying ability

Me too. I wish I were better but I can barely bomb a stationary target, I rarely shoot anything down, and I crash more often than being shot down.

Today on Wake I jumped in the J-10, saw a BH nearby, fired 5 missiles as well as my guns, never shot it down, and a minute later ended up in the drink. It was truly sad.

Some of these jet guys just kill me. They must have perfect vision and reflexes. If you ever get on a map and find yourself on the opposite team as Firebird ~DS~ watch out, you're in for a long round.

The ground... I have a very close relationship with it. Either I get too cockey or am desperate to outmanuver someone... Also, the lockon tones for Stingers and enemy planes is the same, so I hear the "BUZZZZZZZ" and think "LOL, good luck hitting me in those POS Stin..." *BOOM*

Worst enemy is always a strong enemy pilot. They're always lurking around the outskirts of the map, waiting for a bogey to go after.

The topgun sh-it works you know, especially against tricky opponents. If you notice a jet close on your tail firing off his cannon and you're going top speed, simply climb a bit and hit reverse. Chances are the enemy jet won't react in time, will fly past you, and you got a clear shot at their rear. Just remember to accelerate again when they fly by or you'll lose them completely.

Running out of airspeed. I don't think I've ever experienced a BF2 jet stalling before, but they bleed off momentum unusually fast, at least when compared to other high performance jet sims I've flown. Once you're out of airspeed, they are slow to recover speed, even with afterburner engaged.

Also, employing the afterburner tends to pitch a BF2 jet's nose down a little, which can be disastrous when just clearing a ridge.

And there's the challenge of flying fast within the limitations of the BF2 field of play. The result is that you're constantly turning, flying in circles or tracing figure-8s. I've more than once been killed for "leaving" the battlefield while evading an opponent. Once you're off the map, it's easy to become disoriented, and there's no waypoint reference on the HUD to guide you back to safety.

To get back just find the flag markers denoted with their distances and afterburn towards them. They're visible in the HUD.
