I don't think you or anyone else for that matter realizes this isnt about swearing alone. There is untold idiocy in policing a stupid thing like language, when you have all the more serious gameplay issues taking place by the second.

But hey, its their right to have a crappy server. And its my right to complain as long as totalbf2 admins will let me!

you will find most admins will listen to your issues with the gameplay too. admins dont wanna just pick on the people who swear. they want to make the game experience a fun one.. so on the whole they will kick anyone not behaving.. problem is.. normally when some has been tk'd or base raped, they just shout "****ing base raper".. which gets them kicked and the admin is non-the wiser to who was doing the raping!

can i suggest when you have someone cheat, you actually report it to an admin in game so they can investigate whats going on.

I agree. This however, brings me to my question - if I got kicked, why didn't the tker?

And this brings me to the total level of hypocrisy involved in having a no swearing server..

if you got kicked for swearing and didnt make it clear who deliberately team killed you, how is the admin gonna know who to kick??

also, you cant make a script to detect when a tk is accidental or deliberate so an admin has to rely on witnesses! if nobody tells them whats going on, you dont really have a right to moan that nothing is being done.

There was a post about this earlier that spanned like 16 pages of people just going back and forth. Basically, I know that you want to vent some frustration. Its good that you got some off of yhour chest.

On the other post I was talking about, cavemanuk talked about the reason that they kick for swearing: that it is intentionally trying to start something. When someone tk's it could be accidental or on purpose, and until the admin knows its on purpose theres no reason to start kicking. When you swear, there is no mistake that you are trying to get someone riled up. You cant accidently swear (well I guess you can with their filter: pass=kick for saying a**). I agree that all swearing does is to make people mad at each other and start flame wars. I personally dont want to deal with that on any of my servers. I started it up to play the game, and watching people go back and forth cussing their hearts out isnt part of the game. Now if they made Jerry Springer the game, than go for it. But last I checked there wasnt anything like that.

Bottom line, If you dont like the rules of the server, buy your own. You can even make the server message all swear words and make server messages pop up encouraging people to swear if you want. you would have that right because it is your server.

You won't get a logical response to this from a server admin because no one will just come out and say "I'm a control freak" thats what it REALLY boils down to.

This actually possibly goes on to the general way American censorship is really ****ed up IMO. Violence is fine even depicting killing the police and old people (GTA) but swearing and sex is forbidden, really screwed up priorities if you ask me.

In this particular case someone shot a rocket into my helicopter, so im pretty sure it was intentional.

I cant tell you how many times I've had tone on friendly Choppers with ground defense missiles so, the game gives tone, indicating enemy, your going to fire (I thought 1.03 would stop this but no). Anyway, no its not always intentional.

No, I'm more the type to tell teamkill punishers they are morons and to get a monitor when they run over my mines. Usually they don't respond but I love the strings of profanity they come up with when they do.

your right actually... Im an Admin and I'm a control freak. I think anyone who pays for their own server likes being in control. BUT, i personally believe that the reason people come here to whine about being kicked is the lack of control they have over it themselves rather than any specific incident.

my solution is to go rent yourself some control

Also, on our server we have a neg score kicker, so if your score drops to around -14 you get kicked automatically.

if this game were played by adults only then some degree of latitude with off colored language would be tolerated i am sure. even that should and would be in reason. however the nature of this GAME attracts youth some very young.we should keep our profane comments to ourselves and not heard by these young impressional players. curse all you want use Gods name in vain talk about the virtue of someones Mother just do it in your own home and off the airway or screen if you please.
