dont give me a reason to swear. if I swear its because I probably just got tked. Turn team damage off, no swearing, everyone's happy.

or I can just shoot him back. the way it works now is you have less of a chance of being kicked if you tk people than if you swear at people.

Thats because 99 percent of the time, the TK was purely accidental, whereas your swearing is fully intentional. The reason is not important. Swearing is an ineffective form of communication. You end up angrier, and probably out of the server, and the people you swear at probably dont even know why you did it. When someone team kills me, I forgive and usually hear "Sorry" right after. Swearing isnt necessary.

You can always use asterisks in the curse words to bypass the filter.

ok, shafik, im aware of when a tk is accidental or not. In this particular case someone shot a rocket into my helicopter, so im pretty sure it was intentional.

I was referring to real tks, not oops sorry tks.

I really dont understand why servers have filters for curse words i mean do they think its to violence i mean HELLO the game is violence you have people killing each other blowing each other up,but yet your not suppose to cuss

I just replied to another post about this, i'll say it again: I've never seen such things, but have no doubt they exist, cause they should be expected. This is the Internet. Netbus and other trojans, Nukes, TK's.
I understand the point of trojans and such, but the logic of TK evades me. What's the point of taking a ticket or 5 away from your team, destroying the chopper and getting punished for all that?

Most intelligent post so far in the thread and what I've been saying for years since I started playing games online.

You won't get a logical response to this from a server admin because no one will just come out and say "I'm a control freak" thats what it REALLY boils down to.

People ive found usually tk because they are A) jealous of something you have that they want (.50 cal rifle, heli, plane, whatever) B) Drunk C) a straight up-ahole.

Or, they're kids who think its funny.

The logic of tks evades me too, but I can see past my own logical thinking and realize that other people think differently than you and I.

Digital violence and swearing have nothing to do with each other. Notice there's no blood in the game? Think that was accidental? There has to be SOME way to moderate the online experience. One of these way is to eliminate swearing on servers.

In my opinion , there is no need to type any swearwords in any game server . If you must swear then you can do it verbally within the confines of your own home , it takes less effort (unless of course your parents would give a clip round the ear for swearing). Just because children aren't supposed to play this game does not mean they don't and I wouldn't want my children exposed to some of the language I have seen . As with our MoHAA server , our BF2 server is admined by adults with an average age of 30 and anyone who swears will be warned and if they persist they will be banned . With reference to the TKers , anyone intentionally TKing to get vehicles or just to cause a nuisance will also be banned . This is not being a control freak but trying to make the server more pleasant for players that actually want to have fun ...it is a game after all .
