At first with bf2 sniping, I used to aim for the head. For some reason or another I always miss and the guy then hears the bullet and runs off. Rather then aiming for the head, aim for the chest and fire as fast as you can toward the person, like whenever you use the pistol. I use alot of ammo but snipers have alot of rounds and this way the guy actually dies...

It also depends on how bright the red name above your hiding head is...LOL

the coopers in bf2 owns, espacially when your the gunner and you have a good pilot.

I don't know what's the problem here.. As A sniper I have 606 kills and 503 deaths... with my rifle, I have 376 kills with an accuracy of 42 percent. Sometimes I spend entire rounds without dying and just plugging away at people . I have no clue _at all_ what the hell you're complaining about with the sniper rifle.

Not being rude, but a 6:5 ratio as a sniper is nothing to write home about. When I played BFV, at one point my rating was 186:5, as tracked on Jolt. And I wasn't anything super-special, I just learned how to snipe. Unfortunately, BF2 doesn't seem to offer an opportunity to become a competent sniper. Recently the No. 10 ranked sniper was complaining that he found the rifles were lousy, and had great difficulty scoring hits.And I have to agree. The M95 is great when it hits, but it misses far too often. And it's pathetic when someone can kill you with a pistol at greater ranges than you, when you have a specialty weapon designed to kill at great distances.The M24, SVD, and whatever the Chinese use aren't much better, either. There's just too much deviation somewhere.

hey well the sniping can be difficult for people that are just beginning. like my friend who just bought the game and sucks balls at sniping he would go angry when he shot at someone liek 200m away and they wont go down. i tole him in the game they made kind of a bullet drop, but hes stubborn and didnt believe me, and kept shooting

I have had the game for 3 months now and I still suck badly at sniping.

I think the rifles in BF2 are a lot more realistic and require more practice to make headshots and such.

Don't know what to tell you. I've had just as many sniping kills as a medic or assault class will have in a round.

Takes practice I guess. The m24 is so accurate and I found the headshot spot on the SVD. Sniping is a breeze.

There are times when you are on the head and miss but that's just BF2.

It sucks when you have ur target in the middle of ur crosshair, ur not moving, hes not moving...you shoot and for some reason you miss WTF imt alking about 150-200m distances too! argh after patch seems like the m95 does even LESS damage!

I can't agree. I tried America's Army, which has the most realistic engine (or so I'm told), and had very little trouble scoring 100% on the various tests.

Unfortunately, BF2 is anything but realistic in that regard.

I think that a lot of people agree. Sniping is a lot more random in this game then in the older versions. In BF I loved leading the guy a bit while he moved and hitting him, was very challenging and felt great to hit him. Same with vietnam, although easier (I thought then BF) it was still great fun, if you had the target on his head and he didnt move you killed him, other wise you would have to lead him a bit to hit him on the run. This game feels far to random. I was great at sniping in the old games but like a lot of people said in this thread, I can be aiming right at him and miss. If I am prone with the target on a non moving object I should be perfect...I wish EA would have made this class more fun, it was always the one I went to when I would start getting bored of the run and gun action...Find a nice little hiding spot and take out some guys standing around plane camping...If I could fix two things in the game right now it would be the AA which blows and the sniping ...

the sniping in bf1942 was very fun , especely with the 50.cal now thats a sniper. I say they should add a 3rd unlock to all wepaon classes

The sniper rifle isnt bad, it's the camoflague that sux....

I wish EA would listen more to the community, we have some good points and damn they must play this game too....I cant understand why they wouldnt have made this better before the released it or at least improved it in a patch.

The biggest argument, I ever hear about snipers is that they dont contribute. I dont agree, I dont know how many times in BF and BF2 I took out plane campers who were about to grab a jet or chopper and come rape my team.

Im really dissapointed with the sniping. I have also played this game for three months and I still suck at it too....Its not that my skills suck its that EA didnt make this class very good. MHO

My skillz are very good..i can easaly take out oponents allone..but its very hard when they are in mass and coming at you. I remember the good old days in bf1942 i would take out a mass of 7 guys coming at me with my showtee ..thos were the days
