You really must suck, because if you want to specialise in infantry you can easily get a good score as long as you do the right things, hence the fact that you have medic/ammo packs to give out and you can repair stuff, you can't do that very effectivly while in a vehicle, true you may get 2-3 heal/repair/ammo points while driving in a vehicle but you can easily get 10-35 points healing and reviving people on a map and about 10-25 ammo points depending on the map.

yes and no, look, battlefield is about vehicles, if you don't like it go play another game like counter strike or AA.

And as infantry you can do tons of things, many times I had the gold medal at the end of the round without beeing 1 sec ni a vehicle, you just need to learn how, I also get killed a lt by vehicles, but who cares man

Well, just to prove a point...

I just got off playing Anti-Tank on Zatar Wetlands where I finished with a score of about 120, (second to a jet whore by 10 points). Yes it was a half full 64 player server, but that just meant that everyone was in a vehicle.
I was playing with a friend (another Anti-Tank) as a two man squad. It's good to know that you can take on anything that comes your way - tanks, helis or infantry.

A little earlier in the night we had a squad named "RocketONLY" where we had five or six Anti-Tank troops running around... boy, was that fun seeing the rockets fly!

1. The maps are horrible. There is literally no room to hide from tanks, apcs, aircraft, etc.

2. AOE damage of most vehilces regular shots kills insanely fast. A BH or APC just has to "get close" and it gets a kill. So any ledge or corner you can hide behind just gets you killed.

3. It takes 2 c4 to do in a tank... but an AT rocket (designed to KILL TANKS) takes 4-5 from the front of the tank 3-4 from the rear... and some magic 2 shot kills in the treads.

4. Sniper rifles blow. M-95... shot to the chest or head = dead. Try to remain a little on the sensible side here. The new FOTM weapon, the G36c, is more accurate than a sniper rifle at long range. We can't see far enough in this game to even remotely believe there should be bullet drop off. I can't tell you how many times I've hit someone with the M-95 at a good distance and have them turn around and shoot me with 2-3 shots from an AK G36C or etc pop cap gun.

5. Vehicles get the same points an infantry does... but its a hell of a lot easier for a tank to kill a solo infantry. Reduce vehicle kill points to 1 vs infantry. 0 if its within 3 seconds of spawn.

Dude, go play CS, or DoD, or Americas Army. It's really easy to kill vehicles, it only takes two rockets to kill a tank, you just don't know how to kill a tank with AT rockets. M95 isn't a 1hit chest kill on a full health person. There's lots of room to hide from stuff, on Karkand you can hide in like every building. But i do agree that the G36C is insanely accurate, but it can't shoot long distance cause you can't see far away with iron sights. And i agree, unless you're only in a FAV or a Humvee/vodnik/ chinese jeep thingy u should only get 1 point for killing infantary and no points for spawn raping. BUt still, amercas army, one shot kills with almost all weapons, but it's hard to aim. CS and DoD same, one shot kills are not a rarity.

I only play infantry and have a lot of fun doing it, plus some 13,000 some points and 50 some gold medals(No noobtubes, no medic whorage, I play as medic because I like the extra stamina). I only take vehicles if I know that I need to get somewhere or if I dont take it the enemy will get it. The main part about playing as a good infantryman is just to not play stupid. Never headon attack a flag, theres always a flank route to catch people offguard. If you see something or someone you cant get, then run away, regroup, and go back after him. And this isnt only on Karkand, my favorite maps are the chinese ones, like Sonhou and Dalian.

There are plenty of places to hide if you’re not a dumbass I evade detection by tanks all the time the view on them sucks and I see them C4ed and Discus mined without even getting to shot back constantly. The problem is that some people don’t seem to comprehend hiding and will shot at tanks or chuck nades at them.

Also you should just be glad that what cover we have is made of unobtnatium or reinforced with force fields. Really even if you took cover in a two story house a tank could level it with a single shell in real life... and That 50 cal up top would go through sandbags and brick walls like a Tiger through a T-bone steak.

So medium to large explosion kill mostly unarmored humans… shocking! You do know that those “regular shots” are ****ing cannon shells right? This is the gun mounted on the LAV-25 M424 notice what that round meant for anti-personnel use is called HEI as in HIGH EXPLOSIVE Incendiary ...

A nice vid that anyone bitching about BF:2 realism ought to watch http://www.compfused.com/directlink/451/ see those big ass explosions on that building about half way though? That’s cannon fire from a 25mm on an M2 Bradley frankly compared to that you’re getting off easy in game…

That vid also gives a nice image of an M1 tank round going off about 3/4th of the way through… again in game it’s a MASSIVELY smaller blast.

So basically cannon fire is deadly to infantry is it too much to ask that you whining bitches accept even THAT?! As it is the vehicle weapons in game have been HUGELY nerfed to begin with.

As for the Blackhawk… Its gun is firing about 3 to 4,000 7.62mm rounds a minute.

Minigun vs. Car

This is what a minigun like the one on a BH dose to a ****ing car. I don’t even want to THINK what it would do if you turned it on a person or group of them…

Be glad your AT rocket dose ANYTHING to the front… frankly the modern armor on the front of an MBT is pretty much immune to Infantry AT weapons the T-90 has reactive armor which makes it even worse.

Also infantry AT rockets are NOT that deadly even penetrating hits often fail to knock out or even seriously damage a well made modern MBT since at best they tend to poke small pinholes in the tank. It’s actually fairly rare that a small caliber hit like an infantry AT rocket outright destroys a tank… It’s similar in many ways to older warships hits did damage, but a 1 hit knockout on a armored ship was quite rare.

Most tanks hit by such weapons are put back into service quite quickly in any case if they are damaged at all anyway.

The treads are in fact perhaps the best thing to aim at on a big modern tank with anything smaller then a TOW they are weak and damage to them seriously hinders a tanks ability to fight.

And make no mistake we ARE using small weapons in BF:2 the SWAR had an estimated penetration of something like 600-700mm RHA an Abrams has frontal armor twice that thick in places and none of it is under that thickness. There is a reason modern missile are resorting to top attack and it’s simple: They can’t get through the front anymore…

As for C4… pff cry me a ****ing river IMO C4 shouldn’t even damage a tank. With just a lump of undirected explosives you’re looking at something the size of a big artillery shell (probably 20 pounds of HE) in contact with the tank to even phase a tank. The dinky little half to 1 pound brick of C4 the Spec ops is packing placed anywhere beside shoved into the road wheels is probably just going to tickle the tank and maybe shake lose the crews fillings.

So the C4 is already absurdly overpowered and I again say quit you bithcing whiner.

Look at the ****ing code instead of jerking off about how so and so is “more accurate then a sniper rifle” the Sniper Rifles are EASILY the most accurate guns in the game when used properly.

When was the last time you killed a man at 350 meters with a G36?

I’ve done that numerous times with an M24 on Fushe pass and I can manage it at around 250 or so with the M95.

Frankly if he’s firing back and killing with a G36 you’re probably entirely to close to him… I routinely snipe down guys that try to fire back at me with AR in fact I LIKE IT WHEN THEY DO. They invariably go prone to do it and make themselves a huge ass low health targets what ****es me off is when the guy DOSEN’T shot and instead runs for cover…

Also ALL sniper guns DO kill with headshots and these are possible I get them quite bit (admittedly only fairly stationary targets, but you’d be surprised how common those are in a fire fight…)

You can look at my stats I have more time with the rifle then any other infantry weapon by far and a kill to death ratio of nearly 2 to 1. I’ve looked at yours I’ve played a total of maybe 10 minutes more then you with the sniper rifle, but have 50% more kills. Frankly I’m inclined to say the issue here is that you suck with the sniper rifle…

Maybe you’re to busy whoring it up with the M203 to learn to aim… yeah I noticed that you have about twice as many nade kills as rifle kills.

Bite me when I'm in a tank I instantly become a target for every chump with C4, Mines, rockets, jets, helicopters, TOWs, enemy tanks and APC, etc.

I earn my points in a tank and it takes real skill and a brain to use one to max advantage. Further half the time I don't even make top 3 when I use a tank nearly the entire round those spots are resvered for the whoring medics, jet pilots, and choppers jocks.
