I have got 2gig ram running duel channel and mine runs sweet. It did still stutter on darquin oilfields but I checked my Graphics Aperture size in bios and it was set to 128 default, I changed it to 256 and my BF2 really runs smooth now. :)

I hear you all talking about you wish you had more ram slots. Wel good thing I was smart and brought a stick of gig. And because I have 3 slots left I think I'll get a total of 4 gigs.

I would get more RAM but I cant afford it right now Im only 15 and I already spent my money on building the computer in my sig. When I first came to these forums and noticed everyone had SLI 7800's I got so upset, because I thought my computer was pretty top end.

Well I do get a little lag in bf2 and fear on med/high settings when theres lots of stuff happening. Im hoping that an extra 512mb will fix it so that will be my next upgrade.

Aww you're lucky, i can't change my AGP aperuture size because i am using a crappy default Asus motherboard from HP (my computer is an hp pavilion that is modified). Mine is at 64... i have 256 mb of video memory...

I went from 1 gig pc3200 to 1.5 gig & noticed no difference - its all pretty quick with no stuttering etc and I play everything on full settings

if i could put off a graphics card update i would...but i got a s**t geforce fx5200 that can only play bf2 on low...low...and errr low settings! ill get a xfx6600gt and then ill upgrade to a gig of ram...

Yeah i have been running a fx5600 256mb and it runs **** which isa why im awaiting delivery of my new 6800gt.

As for your question definatley corsair, kingston is good ram very reliable but corsairs really high performing and equally reliable.

It hardly looks good on DICE engineers that the game needs 1gb to run even adequately. Although one of the most difficult parts of a game to write are the resource managers that cache, uncache resources and look-ahead to intelligently see what needs to be loaded, they're not impossible to write, and other games have done this more than well.

Perhaps EA wanted the game out this year....

look at the cpu in my sig.
It runs smooth as butter with 1 gig.. but im sure that 2 wouldnt hurt much :)
Its kinda weird playing other games after BF2.. you can run everything on high without a hitch.. I bought COD and was suprised when I could run everything on the highest settings and still pull 60-80fps.. then I remembered that BF2 eats systems like free samples at the supermarket.
